Tales of Symphonia's story can be as original as you like, the way that it was delivered was very sloppy.
"Let's save both worlds! But not before we do some side questing first!" "Hey, OUT OF NOWHERE, something that helps us in our main quest pops up! Let's pursue it! Oh, wait, let's do something else first!" All. The. Freaking. Time.

You just figured that out?
Sure is. Anyways, I don't have a PS3 unfortunately, but I look forward to the story and hope this company will lay back on the money-wanting (DLC) and otaku-target costumes... Eh? Not possible, you say? I liked TOS. Don't really see any problem with the story. Then again, it might just be the fact that was the first Tales I played and the leniency that comes from that.

Also, how was Vesperia's engine "blurry, slow, and dated", exactly? Did we play the same game? |

Yup, mainly due to the bluring filter applied on the 360 version and quincunx on the ps3. If you see something different, i don't now what to say. With Slow, i was referring to the battle system, compare it to ToG, it feels dated. To be fair ToG is a 2009 game whereas ToV a 2008, so yeah the engine will be dated by default. Besides if you compare ToV engine to the ToG engine, the ToG enigne runs much much better on the ps3.

If we can go a totally different route with each character then all the better. Probably a bit unlikely, but one can still dream.

More new infos on the 2011 tales game, covered in this weeks famitsu issue and summarised by anoop, read the whole story on andriasang.com
Don't want to comment on the visual art too much, until i see it in action myself, but the character models don't seem to blend into the environment too well. Obviously if it is in motion it will look different. Cannot wait for its release, hopefully it will be in the summer rather than winter->postal services and delays during christmas. |
