mplayer2 claims it handles ordered chapters its in the comparison page too -> http://www.mplayer2.org/comparison.html

but its not working for me unlike haali media splitter with MPC is doing

do i have to add some command line setting to make ordered chaptering work on mplayer2? and im also using your smplayer2 lachs0r

The Linux version of mplayer2 definitely supports ordered chapters. I just checked it again with an episode of Kurenai, and mplayer2 started with the separate OP then transitioned to the episode material.

I use the version for Ubuntu in the "ripps" repository. It comes with a build of CoreAVC for Linux, but I don't use that, just mplayer2.

No problem here on Windows, using lachs0r's latest build. The only thing that doesn't work are the "next" and "previous" buttons, you have to select the specific chapter through the navigation. Or are these buttons only for file playlists?

I tried both the CLI and lachs0r's smplayer2, no special command-line, simply dragged&dropped the file on the executable.

Maybe you can upload the files?

Something's not right with those files, Haali will only merge them if "Merge all segments" is activated, as opposed to just "Try to open linked files".

/edit:
Yes, those are not ordered chapters. No chapters at all, in fact. Just some kind of segment linking.

I doubt a simple command can help. Maybe lachs0r is willing to add the feature? Segment linking should be simple compared to ordered chapters.

The segment linking TheFluff is talking about is not the same as the one we are talking about. What he means are ordered chapters that link to other files (which mplayer2 does support), not the simple segment linking without chapters that is used in your files.

Yep, mplayer2 supports segment linking using ordered chapters, not the stuff you get with the checkbox in mkvmerge-gui.

In other news, wm4 has been hacking on the direct3d output. It now supports EOSD (OSD and subtitles rendered at display resolution, independently from the video) and can use shaders for the colorspace conversion (like gl it also works with 10bit input). No more broken color levels with these, and it apparently works with ATI too, although someone reported increased CPU usage compared to swscale—probably just crappy drivers; will investigate. Anyway, looks like it could become a usable alternative to gl.

No new builds right now though. This—and a few other changes—needs more testing, and I want to get some work done on SMPlayer2 as well.

Looks like the Mesa devs finally fixed Hi10P playback.

I installed it but it messes up the sound of all my video files :/
As in no sound and if I skip it sounds like clapping..
Any idea on where I can get the older version now of 30 - 7

edit;

found the older one and now it works again. Very weird, any idea why it happened?
It didn't just happen with anime, but also with drama series I have and normal .avi movies divx.
But I uninstalled it and reinstalled the 30-7 dated release and it works again.

If you can easily reproduce this issue, could you please tell me what items are listed in the Play-> Filters menu when you have this file open in Media Player Classic Homecinema that CCCP installs? (assuming that you have been using MPC-HC to play these videos)

I tried reproducing it, reinstalled the 11-11 version and for some reason it now seems to work.
I didn't do any 3d renders either in the mean time, I had issues with 3dsmax corrupting cccp int he past though with maya it works.

If it happens again then I will let you know and post what you asked me straight away.

Random question.

Is there phones/portable stuff that can play 10-bit encode yet?

No, and don't hold your breath. Anime is a niche market and no one outside of the fansubbing community is using hi10p, so hardware support might never come.
