KosMos from Xenosaga animated series #1.
With her auto read dual weapons and that beautiful smile while her eyes gleam, you know somethings gonna DIE if it touches Shion. KosMos eventually rounds the corner as well to become a hero to most in the series from so many failed starts.

Urd from season 2 amg. #2
She starts off on the opening scene with the vision of sureness and then winks at me, ... , to her ability to fix things up plus shes not shy to use 'Human remote control'. hahahahahaaha. Urd just seems to have things in line mentally and with her personality to not end up as a fluzzie.

RIN Tohsaka from fate/stay night #3.
She is so dang sexy. Rin also seems to know a lot of stuff suddenly as if thoughts randomly form above her. Amazing how she keeps her cool as all odds are against her. She is a perfect 'normal' girl who would suprise you daily with something new and exciting.

if i can only pick one character it'd be (kurapica) but if i could choose more i'd choose kurapica and killua (hunter x hunter) sojiro seta and kenshin (ruroni kenshin) kyo,yuki,haru...ext (fruits basket) yuu and kay (marmalade boy) kamui (X) kazuki makubex and ban (the get backers) inuyasha and kagome (inuyasha) hesoka and tsuzuki (descendants of darkness) edward and roy (full metal alchamist) narumi,kanon and rio (spiral) fye,shawran,kurogane and sakura (tsubasa chronicals) nokoru,akira nad suo (clamp school detectives) okita soji (peace maker) train (black cat) mikoto,kouno and yuujiro (princess princess) <sigh> the list is still so long! hitsugaya,ichigo,byakuya,urahara,ishida and rukiya (bleach) kanata,ruu and sayya (boy meets girl/daa daa daa) sasame (pretear) conrad,wolfram,yuri and celi? For females, probably Osaka from azumanga daioh, as she is a very atypical anime character both in looks and in personality.

As for males... Jin from Samurai Champloo, as he provides such a calm contrast to Mugen (who I dislike...).
