You mean you don't like being rewarded for using a device as it is intended to function (i.e. a portable being, you know, portable)? Anyways, like I said, for something that's supposedly going to be in all games, it's doubtful that it's going to be the only way to unlock things.

I don't know about you, but I don't carry my DS everywhere I go for no apparent reason. I only take it when I'm going to have time to use it, which usually means it's going to be in a bag or backpack, not my pocket. That usually negates 90% of the "pedometer" function that would actually count towards these achievement things.

So now we have the first region-locked handheld? *sigh* And I had such high hopes about region locking when the PS3 became region free.

Black/White, while region locked on the DSi itself, could be played on any regular DS/Lite, though. I'm pretty sure the same goes for any other DSi games, too. So it wasn't really a big deal except for people who only owned a DSi.

DSi enhanced software are region lock on DSi systems, not on DS. DSi (only) software is region locked, but those game can only be played with DSi machines anyway, examples are game that make use of the camera, or requires the extra processing power that the DSi has to offer. |

no Etrian Odyssey = no 3DS (in the foreseeable future) Where's the outrage taking place so we can convince Nintendo to change their mind?

I'd have to see what the game libraries are before deciding if it were a big deal to me. I have about a 60/40 ratio of English/Japanese games for my DS, so it's hard to say. Granted I only have like 12 DS games, but still.

As much as I defended 3DS in the past, I couldn't excuse region-locking. Granted, Nintendo INVENTED the concept, so you can't blame them for doing what they have been doing for years. But it is disheartening that I can not import American translated games for 3DS.
Sometimes I wonder if the Japanese even knows we Australians exist.
