Maria-sama ga Miteru third season
I don't like to ask this kind of question. I already hear somes ghosts saying "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!" But I tried it! and I can't find what I want!
Does someone knows if there will be a 3rd season? I think that it would be logical since the 2nd season is far from the end of the novel serie... |

Till now there have been no official announcements, no leaked rumuors, no nothing. On the bright side, there hasn't been any annoncements of the company not continuing with the series. So, to this day the most accurate answers is "Who knows?"

well...who knows?
The TV ratings for the second season was only 0.3%, but judging how the DVD sales are and that there are more volumes of the novel that haven't been shown yet, there might be one. But there hasn't been any news or leaked info as of yet, so all we can do is speculate and hope that we get to see Kanako-chan. |

I could guess the ratings are so low due to the fact that this show is aimed right at the female market in Japan, besides competeing against the likes of Madlax,FMA and still more Naruto... of course the ratings are small. Regarding a season 3, I doubt we'll see it, what I expect though is perhaps an OVA of some sort.
Besides there are the Novels which are great. If they were only translated into English. =( |

It's hardly competing against those shows for viewers. It was shown on Sunday mornings, a totally different timeslot bracket. Given that the series doesn't really seem to be aimed directly at the otaku (not that they're not milking the otaku fan element for all it's worth), that's a much more suitable slot for it than, say, 1:30am or something, though I have to wonder if it would've done better in a "family" slot like 6:30pm or something.
I'd expect at the very least an OVA series to follow, given the sales of the DVD's, etc, but I'm hoping for a 3rd season. I suppose we can only wait and see at this point. |

gah so low ratings? but the futabas have loads of marimite......
i always thought that the marimite anime was geared towards the otaku. iirc someone did a translation of an article or interview a while back; in it someone mentioned that the style of marimite that they decided on was geared towards that group? i hope i'm recalling the right thing..... not only kanako, but also all the other stories! i really want to see yumi-chan's generation take the center stage in lilian. season 3 please! an OVA just won't cut it, marimite already feels rushed after being crammed into 13 episodes! i wouldn't mind a 1 1/2 hour movie though, a standalone story done by the writer, or one of the longer arcs which can be sqeezed into a short story. that would be nice. a beach trip or holiday trip or something, just like in that doujinshi (can't remember which, the one with the dragonflies?). or maybe the trip to italy! |

Why is that everybody keeps saying the rating for the second season is low? According to NewType USA, it isn't so bad for a series like this. There are some shows that get lower rating. Just exactly what is your source about the rating?

The supposed census of Japan is 160,000,000 persons. The supposed viewer rating for "Marimite~Haru~" is 0.3% Supposed number of viewers for "Marimite~Haru~": 0.3% x 160,000,000 persons = 480,000 persons = A Using the "it costs a little over 30,000,000 yen per episode to make an anime" rule: 30,000,000 yen x 13 episodes = 390,000,000 yen = B Now here comes the hard question..."out of the total viewers of this series, how many will actually go out and buy the DVD?" number of prospective buyers: 100% x A = 480,000 90 % x A = 432,000 80 % x A = 384,000 70 % x A = 336,000 60 % x A = 288,000 50 % x A = 240,000 40 % x A = 192,000 30 % x A = 144,000 20 % x A = 96,000 10 % x A = 48,000 Now use those figures and figure out the prospective sales. I will use 7000 yen per disc for 6 discs each 480,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 20,160,000,000 yen 432,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 18,144,000,000 yen 384,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 16,128,000,000 yen 336,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 14,112,000,000 yen 288,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 12,096,000,000 yen 240,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 10,080,000,000 yen 192,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 8,064,000,000 yen 144,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 6,048,000,000 yen 96,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 4,032,000,000 yen 48,000 x 7000 yen x 6 discs = 2,016,000,000 yen As you can see, even if 48,000 persons buys the DVDs (10% of 0.3% of the entire Japanese populace), this anime rakes in profit. |

I don't understand how ~haru~ got such... harsh rating? I admit, I did enjoy the first season a whole lot more because of Satou Sei, but it's not like she didn't have her share in the second season. Come on, I've never seen any other support character get so much air time!!! (fangirl within screams: sei-sama, i rabu you!) So it can't solely be the fact that the original Roses left... can it? And seeing how Sei is showing up again the last few episodes... heh... heh... um, er, I guess normal people don't wake up early to watch anime? Ergh - Maria-sama ga Miteru is really well made, I'd hate to see it go down like that. |
