hmm. I also like the new designs. I think overall they are more detailed and looks good and sexy but the past design are also good but cut and moe.

My problem would probably Ichika and probably Houki (mix feelings on this girl)

Ichika because "WHO THE F*CK IS THAT!!!? " reaction I get from him.
Houki ...... she looks cute but she looks also a generic twin tail tsundere girl. Her scowl also looks more cute.... I can't say that its a bad thing but well.......

both illustration looks great.
Cecilia..... the new Cecilia looks like a queen that I want to be stepped on

Rin lost her moe face. She turns fierce with forehead moe
Charlotte....... She looks gorgeous on that new look. Though I also like her past one.
The only thing that doesn't have much change is indeed Laura. I see no difference. Well aside from that belt.
Orimura-sensei. Mix feelings. Just like Houki

Overall. I find it great. Minus Ichika which I didn't recognize at all. He really turn into some MC in a vn game with that handsome face of his. He reminds me of the twilight guy that I like to turn into a target practice.

Charlotte - First Childhood friend

I really can't wait for the new illustrations of the Vol. 1-2. Especially the bathroom scene of Cecilia, with that queen's face to boot, it's nice to see it.

Oh, hey, N0m@n, in six seeks time is the release of the Vol. 8,right?

Can't wait to resume the "Harem Mayhem" of IS, along with the Sarashiki sisters on board.

Many good things to come but for Vol. 8 will have Chifuyu to take the stage.

Predictions:
- Maybe a revelation about Ichika?
- Oh, yeah, I remember that Tabane had an adopted daughter and she had her deliver something to the academy.
- More troubles with the girls.

If my prediction is right, it would be more or less like To-Love-Ru

There's big changes between Season 1 and 2 due to different studio, this time is due to original Illustration (probably) owned by Okiura and whichever studio want to make season 2 (if ever), then they'll use new design.

Uhh... I don't think a 2 is even in the talks. TLR is still in jump just the monthly edition.

The publisher meaning it can get more adult-like. Doesn't need to be rated PG

Novel's been on hiatus for a while. I honestly doubt a studio would be wanting to make a anime out of it anytime soon.

Were side characters' art in the anime done or directed by Okiura? I've noted it before that the heroines feel vastly different from them in terms of even basic design but it's just now I've played with the idea that Okiura's art was only applied to main characters while the side characters, even named, were relegated.

Don't think so, they just look more... naturally diverse, without trying too hard to be unique

All the characters drawn by Okiura, with exception of Ichika-Chifuyu-Madoka or Kanzashi-Tatenashi, has wildly different design.

The funny thing is the side characters look more unique than the main heroines. It makes me apprerciate what Choco did for the girls as some may not be better but I can really feel some sort of individuality from the art.

When I first watched/read IS. The first thing I noticed were the heroines all looked the same. Heck even with Charlotte and Houki. All I had to do was trade the hair and they looked practically identical. Bust size non-withstanding and giving only minor hints but it was only hairstyle that differentiated them.

Hm, have to admit I don't see it, considering the fact that they're all in school uniforms -- so hair and physique aside they (outside of casual clothing) must wear the same uniform.

As I said, I'm one of the people that liked and appreciated the old art-style, which was what sold me on the series more than the actual content of it. I remembered the first time I watched the anime series I guffawed at the ridiculousness and lack of believably -- I actually thought it was spoofing something

.. The art and animation quality is what kept me coming back.

Is it just me, or Cecilia's new design reminds of Toaru Majutsu no Index's Second Princess Carissa... or at least some [slightly ~ really] scary princess?
