For some reason, I like the original powerpuff girls better.

The OP theme was slow and boring....The transformation sequences was too drawn out and they were boring to watch.....Extremely kiddy version of Sailor moon indeed. I was actually looking forward to this but after those two sneak previews, it's not off to a good start for me.

Not very anime-ish, I guess that what they were aiming for, fighting sucks, overall meh, they just changed the girls from potatoes to lollies.
Anyway find kinda cute how all the bys are attracted to Bubbles and all the girls to Buttercup.
Also Buttercup that gets a cold cause she isnīt used to wearing a skirt XD

Update on the fansub: The TL of the ep is 60% and we have finished the OP kara (which looks absolutely awesome).

I wonder if the presence of Octi in the ED means that Bubbles is still gonna be babyish...

In the words of Peter Griffin.

Except for the character desgins, which are better in the anime I'd have to agree the original is better. PPZ is just underwhelming in all aspects that made the original popular.

Some fans of US PPG may also be suffering from fatigue, you realize. This is essentially a reset of the PPG "universe" (ridiculously technical but it's the only word that works) and so we're having to go back, practically, to "Meet Fuzzy Lumpkins."

Also, though: I wonder. Remember, like many of its first-generation What A Cartoon siblings, the Girls were founded on a base of ruthless parody. Johnny Bravo as generic "tough guy" parody, Buzz Cheeply as sci-fi parody (BUZZ GOT A RAW DEAL BTW), the Girls as superhero parody, and probably the most sharply constructed parody of the three, once people understood what they were looking at.

From the previews I've seen so far... Toei may or may not have understood that. Those transform sequences seemed gratuitously long, so much so that I wonder if it was intentional. Also, transferring them to Tokyo rather than Townsville fits parody: Tokyo is the most overused anime site ever.

I'll need to see the episodes to pass final judgment, but done right this could be as wonderful and as ruthless a parody as the original PPG was, while still remaining kid-friendly.

EDIT: Wait

Z

This HAS to be parody, I refuse to believe they'd pick THAT letter purely by chance. I am intrigued now.

I.E. they're even doing parody of the original Powerpuff origin.

I am going to be extremely intrigued to see the subs for 1 and 2. Starks, do you guys have the 2nd raw yet?

Ok, looks like people are misunderstanding.

Episode 1 has two episode titles. Each episode titles depends on what part of the episode. They are still the same episode, despite having two episode titles. (Episode 1 Part A does lead into Part B.)

The scary part is no matter how much it goes downhill, I may watch it just for a possible train wreck factor. As well as curiousity as to well how each character will be changed. I mean by more than just design as in personality and behavior.

Couldn't help noticing that there is a screenfull of villians in that ED. It looks like they are going to be using virtually everyone. I can see the Gangrene Gang, Mojo Jojo, Princess, Him, The RowdyRuff Boys, Sedusa, Fuzzy Lumpkins and maybe two that I couldn't quite identify. It looks like the gang is all here.

If you look at the guy in the top hat, it's actually the Ameoba Boys all standing on top of each on other wearing a disguise.

Thank you, you've got good eyes! I couldn't quite identify that one due to the poor image quality of the clip. The other I can't identify is the figure between the Amoeba Boys and Fuzzy Lumpkins. Any help?
