She sucks. She is ruining this show for me. The voice is just too damn annoying like some old lady's. It wasn't so bad in ep 2 but still it would be so much better without it or at least with a different VA whose voice would not be as annoying.

The "old lady" voice is intentional. Never heard of Mother Goose? What better narrator for a twisted fairy tale series?

Plus, most people seem to like it, so you're just outta luck. ^_^

Ah yes, the flat breast jokes are pretty good too. I loved it when the new guy with the long hair gets pulled away by the girl and how the narrator's voice changes. I can't think of the word to describe how she changes her voice, but it's hilarious.

There aren't that many good shows around. This one at least has good character designs. Its just the narrator's voice ruining it. Mother goose or not - it sucks. Of course there is always a mute button but it takes away not only the annoying narrator voice but also other characters who are not as bad in their roles.

by the way, doesn't Ringo remind you of Piko from Awakara under the Bridge? They have similar hairstyle, similar hair colour, even their voices sound similar.

& i really hope this thread isn't going to be full of similar post saying how the narrator destroys the show after every episode. Really brings down the discussion that could be happening in the thread.

They have similar hairstyle and hair colour, but the voice doesn't seem to be similar :S Chiaki Omigawa (seiyuu of P-Ko) has a voice that is very distinctive from other female seiyuus imo.

I don't mind the narrator, in fact, it's actually pretty good, but I do hope that they do ease up on narrating over other characters' discourse.

Although you're certainly not the only one. I'm seeing a lot of people on the 'net gradually warming up to this one. It's usually the ones who were bitching about the narrator from day one... Knew they'd come around... ^_^

I knew that Mimi Usami was the hare, but never considered the tortoise would be Otohime. The point of the series isn't just fairy tales, but converging fairy tales. Keep this in mind. Though for Mimi, one might need a Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. Now with the basic premise, we can get into the groove we'll have for some time to come, including expanding the secondary characters. This is a good thing. A universe is an assembly of all its cast. Apparently Otohime wasn't always the smoking hot "Can I reel you in?" voiced by Ai Toyosaki she is now. Fell quite outside the standard anime character design when younger. But this is her episode to shine, as well as introducing several other characters, including our Snow White and Momotaro(s), who might come into play later. Also, Zero no Tsukaima shoutouts. Next week: Otsuu takes the spotlight. In other news: List is a crossdresser. Color me surprised.

ueXia Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2010 Age: 32	Spoiler for Episode 03: I liked this episode a lot, what is nice about this series is that the characters have already made up their mind (excluding your obvious tsundere lead) about who they want, cherish and love. Myself, I have been through the same shit as Otohime, but in the male twist of things .. so in my case, I just started to "show up there" socially when I changed my appearence. Whoever said "what matters is the inside" to a kid is definetely making a BIG mistake. Things really start to even out when you're much older (finishing highschool). Before that, expect some sick trolling. Oh and ... DAT HAIR

Well, the atmosphere was good, anyways. The narrator was okay this time. It was also entertaining to see the characters cosplay to that anime disaster, and this week's character is the now-rare Kugimiya-voiced. Anyways, a lot better than the first two episodes...
