Guess I'll be going against the stream here, but I thought the first episode was pretty bad.

Tame fanserivce and lackluster humor combined with recycled character stereotypes. At least it tries a new setting, but I won't be bothering with this one.

I didn't expect much when I looked up this anime but surprisingly, the first episode was pretty good. Got some good laughs here and there and the fanservice was pretty good too, although some of the censoring seemed odd.

It's not random, they only censor it if it's a close-up shot, or if it's actual nudity - as was the case with Chitose and that giant salamander.
Sure, she was only "playing" with it, she wasn't trying to catch it to eat it

As we're already talking of Chitose, she seems to have a truly voracious appetite... as was already asked in the episode, where does she leave it all?
Does it all go to her breasts?

Spoiler for Softenni 02 - Wimbledon Wish:

While the first episode was arguably a team focuser, this week was very clearly shining the spotlight on Kotone. Seeing another Eri Kitamura character going crazy over a guy makes me glad that they live in a show where friendship prevails and their biggest obstacle is themselves. Stringing a tennis racket to your leg is actually a pretty nifty idea. Seeing Kotone's family, it makes sense.

The other aspect of this episode is the introduction of Lizzy Warren. I'm going to like her. Sayuri Yahagi's speaking patterns are reminiscent of one of the greatest foreigners in anime - Kate. Her cadence is somewhat more muted, but still delightful all the same. And I'm seeing some Lizzy/Asuna stuff in there if I squint hard enough.

Next week: SHARK WEEK!

Oi, oi, damn it! I was prepared to cut this anime because there was too much to watch today, but it turns out the 2nd episode was actually a whole lot better than the first! Actually kind of fun to watch!

As always, Yahagi does a great job.

I generally don't care about tennis, but this is actually quite fun to watch
It not only has plenty of tasty pantsu, but also funny and likeable characters: Asuna's perverted fantasies, Chitose trying to catch a giant salamander for dinner etc.
I'll be definitely following this one.

Well somewhat surprising but Misshi has walked into a triangle situation with Kotone and Elizabeth. Of course it'll just stay comical (mostly) so he can avoid jail time . Did give him some background though. Makes sense that he'd sympathize with Kotone being a pretty damn good player in the past. Clearly he just got burned out and now is just teaching and being a school coach. Not a bad idea to give Kotone a different challenge to go after before she got burned out when it came to karate.

Anyways just a good episode for introducing the next member of the team and giving some background. Some good laughs especially early on with Kotone's desire for extreme training .
