I quickly glanced at some of the stuff you guys were discussing. Even did a translation of the conversation on chapter 42 between Shea and Yue. Also, someone asked for a description of Yue; I'll mention their first meeting.

Please remember that my Japanese is not that great, not even close. This is just some information I gathered. If I made a mistake, please point it out.

Spoiler for Yue and other stuff:

Yue has long blond hair and red eyes. When Hajime first saw Yue her long hair was dangling in front of her face and her red eyes shined through the gaps. He compared her to a certain horror movie's ghost (Sadako). He described her looking around 12-13 years old. Her height is around 140 cm. Later on she even addressed herself as a pettanko. As for her age, she is at least 320 years old. She was sealed when she was 20 years old and the vampires were wiped out 300 years ago. Hajime called her a loli-baba (loli-grandma). Of course he did this in his mind. Another important note is that Yue is not her birth name. When she was freed from her seal, she asked Hajime to give her a new name. Hajime picked Yue because her eyes reminded him of the moon (low altitude moon turns red).

As for Kaori being a yandere. Right after the translation Kadi did on chapter 25 there is a short description of Kaori's heroine instinct going off. A demonic image could be seen behind her, and it frightened Shizuku. It also said that there would be bloodshed in the near future. Though it might be just a joke.

“T-That is why. Yue-san can take a separate room. I’ll share a room with Hajime-san.”

Yue: “Today is the anniversary of your death.”
Shea: “Uh, I-I won’t lose! Today I’ll beat Yue-san and take the position of the true heroine.”

Shea: “The student becomes the master!”
[Actual translation is “Social upheaval” or “Juniors dominating senior”, but it didn’t sound great.]

Reading through brainwashing part. it's look like Shea relationship with her father and her tribe isn't so terrible[their relationship look like fine to me]. it's only her hair colour that different from another, but her tribe didn't treat her so poorly[Shea argument with her father is funny one before Yue put them down with Storm Emperor].

Hajime brainwashing could change a loving father into murderous commander who said "why did you need a reason to kill your enemy" even without hearing their plea.

Shea didn't abandoned by her tribe, she joined Hajime by her own wish[even before her tribe brainwashing incedent happening]. her tribe guarding entrance to the great tree.

Edit: Does the status recorded in the plate have any meaning here? What good is it to have defense and magic defense over 10000 if it seems even a kid with kitchen knife can still shank you and normal magic can also still hurt you?

A voice that's not like the usual Hajime echoed in the bathroom. When he languidly loosen his whole body, suddenly, he gradually heard sound of footsteps. Perfectly taking his guard off, Hajime shuddered. Even though He had said He will enter (the bath) alone.
Obviously, the sound of someone entering the bathtub comes from,

Yue: nnh......it feels good......

Yue who is stark naked and sit beside Hajime.

Hajime: Yue-san, I though I already said I will go alone
Yue: ......but I refuse*
Hajime: Wait a sec! why do you know that jokes!
Yue: ......
Hajime: ......at least cover your front. There lots of towel you can use.
Yue: rather look at me
Hajime: ......
Yue: ......ei
Hajime: ......i, it's touching me you know?
Yue: no it's not
Hajime: like I said how did you know that jokes! eei, I'm out of here!
Yue: you will not escape!
Hajime: wa, wait, a, aaaaa------!!!

After that, I'll leave it to your imagination of what happened.

Meanwhile, on Kaori side

Student: hmm? suddenly a killing intent......
Student: Kaori!? I can see Hannya behind you!?

*note: "daga kotowaru", maybe you have heard this line somewhere~


Anyway, Kaori is prone to jealousy, which mean she has potential~ but not on hardcore level of course~


Next, about how Shia can walk easily in town of human: she wears a collar which is the sign "of slaves", it's normal for non-human to walk in town if it's a slave.

Next, about Yue, she has "Bewitching" trait, which mean she is typical sexy loli.

In "syosetsu" with medieval settings like this, it's normal to be interested and marry 12-15 years old girl (depending on the legal age of the setting), lots of these "syosetsu" usually set 15 as age of adulthood, while some set are 12. IMO, the class who are modern people, would think those people (like Hajime) due to differences in culture.

I loled at Will and Gale: the former when Hajime return (he thought it was Gale's) his precious locket which contain a beautiful woman (Will's mother), and the latter when Will mention Gale family name (Gale Homoruca) and he have "partner" he wanted to propose to (A man).

I think you're a little confused. The only person who has such ridiculous stats is Hajime and he hasn't been hurt much at all since they left the first dungeon.

In the last chapter, it seems that if Hajime doesn't evade the demon's attack it will harm him and even possibly kill him based on Shia's vision. It possible the demon that attack him also have some crazy status like Hajime, though considering how fast taht guy retreat and how easy Hajime harm him it doesn't look like it.

And also all this time even when facing mob monster Hajime always evade. Never see him tank an attack like it was nothing. In RPG, with crazy and broken status like Hajime's, an attack from low class monster should have 0 or 1 damage. Yet the impression I got when Hajime and Shia fight, it seems like they can still be harmed even when they are facing your everyday random monster.

She has some good yandere traits, but she doesn't fit the definition to a T, meaning that she is currently pretty tame now (we have seen her "lose herself" over Hajime, btw). She probably needs that good, strong comical event to push her over the edge

Even when Hajime is fighting low class monsters, the author still doesn't completely discard the possibility of danger even though his stats could be like 1000 times better than the opposition. Heck, in some cases he has to sorta try to get rid of the enemy (as in, "he needs to attack"), while with his stats perhaps sneezing on top of an enemy should be enough to reduce it to nothing but dust

There is no health pool. Hajime has a lot more durability than most, but he can't just "lol immune" attacks from low level monsters or people. He needs to guard or evade. That's why they need to always be on guard, but luckily they have Shia.

Shia may be the weakest of the 3(or 4 if we include Tio), but her future foresight protects them from ambushes. Oh, and for people who were wondering, Shia's future foresight is her peculiar magic that she was born with. It automatically gives her a few seconds warning if a lethal situation would occur for her or someone she is close to. She can also activate it on her own for a greater "range" of vision, but this consumes a lot of magic. At the start she could only activate it once a day, and she used it for love predictions and such. Her efficiency has improved since she started training in order to accompany Hajime and Yue.

That's why I'm wondering if there are any meaning of defense and magic defense in status plate. You can easily see the result of strength, vitality, agility, and magic. But is there any meaning of 10000 defense if a monster with attack of 1000 can still tear off your flesh? I'd imagine that defense of 10000 will be at least like Tio, where when she got hit by Hajime's gun the bullet doesn't even pierce.

I imagine defense is like durability in this world. Like if Hajime were to fall off a high building he could just get right up and walk away cause of his stats. But if someone else were to do so..well, suffice it to say that they'd go splat. As for magic def, it would probably act on the same principle. If your M-def is higher than your assailant's M-atk then they're attack would have little to no effect. Also, like Blud said there's no Hp bar. If, by any chance, they get hurt due to carelessness, they're going to have to use a healing spell or potion or whatever to fix themselves up. That's a waste of resources just for being careless. Think of them like the Logias in One piece. Carelessness is a habit you want to avoid nurturing at all costs.

It doesn't seem that simple. So far there is no case at all where the character easily tank without harm an attack from weaker enemy. They all seem to have a pretty healthy habit of evading or blocking all attack no matter who does it.

There is, but its limited. For instance, his magic and poison resistance kept him from instant death by melting when the hydra hit him with a breath, but he was still massively damaged. His physical durability is also what keeps him from being crushed by the recoil of his own guns, or the scorpion's(from Yue's release) needles from going straight through him.

He could probably shrug off a lot of things with minimal effects, but standard common sense applies. A blade in the throat would kill him as easily as the next guy. Or a water-cutter in the back with no defense prepared. He didn't even have body strengthening or Kongo up.

Well, yes, but those needles were received in non-vital area, with his guard up and body-strengthening to his limit at the time. That's a lot different than getting caught napping(figuratively).

And I guess those needles would be able to punch a tank full of holes... or at least dents. Vital areas or not, Hajime should've been ripped to shreds if your regular Joe with a knife could hurt him, too...


Unless it's some super-complicated system where "the stronger the attack, the stronger the defense", but that's more skill-like and not fit for a attribute. In fact, if it were the reasoning behind the attributes, it'd be even worse...



P.S.: By my lowest estimates, Hajime can lift 50 tons. That's like 2-3 2m*2m*2m cubes of rock. That should have some interesting consequences/possibilities... which will probably never be explored. Too bad.

You probably understood it better than me, but didn't at one point, Yue's & Shia's manzai got too out of hand, and Hajime used a good old "soft" knuckle fist on them?? (like, when a parent hits a truant kid on top of the head).... And I remember the 2 of them making a big deal about it I always figured that a 10k stats tough love was a little bit too much to handle as a joke stopper

No, he didn't have the Stone Skin power at the time, but standard body strengthening using his direct magic raises durability by a lot.

Perhaps he could tank a kitchen knife swung by an average Joe, but that was an exaggeration to begin with. Anyone dumb enough to try would get strung up and humiliated(like that one girl who tried to get rid of the parasite from "Yue onee-sama"...). The people/monsters going after him aren't average.

The point was just that he can't just ignore attacks due to some perceived invulnerability. Even the dragon shapeshifters were hunted down by normal humans, and defense is pretty much their specialty.
