It really as if a light switch came on over at A-1 and someone said, "Hey, wait - Lucy is the hottest chick in the universe. Why aren't we doing more with that?" Not that I'm complaining - this last stretch of eps has been a feast for the eyes.

It's probably bears mentioning at this point that the manga itself cranked up the fanservice a couple notches at this point. So the anime creators had a lot more leeway to decide on how much fan service they wished to include.

I'd say the first OVA had more than enough leeway because since Erza became Gray female version, to the point that we had a nipple-less moment, (thanks Hiro btw for not showing the important stuff-v-). Hey Krono, do you think I'll catch shit if I post EroKing's pics on the OM Anime thread?

Yeah the first OVA was probably the point that the staff decided it's about time they boosted up the fanservice. I seriously don't mind it in this series because at the end of the day it's all good fun. Plus Mashima draws some damn sexy girls, so they might as well show them off.
