I'm looking for some type of anime where the main hero/heroine gets/unlocks certain powers when there angry,sad,hurt etc. Just that emotional rage that sends them over the edge, I wish i had some good examples i know theres a bunch.

Kazuma from Kaze no Stigma in episode, starting in episode 20. If you want to see rage, wrath and a character over the edge, that's probably a very good bet.

Happened a couple of times in Rurouni Kenshin.

Full Metal Panic - male lead, main villain
Toward the Terra - several characters, including male lead
Hyper Police - female lead, some humour with it

The show didn't make excuses, it didn't shyly imply some kind of obscure pseudo-mental link. It gave a name to your concept and proceeded to used it remorselessly throughout the series.
