One of the Bond movies which had everything going for it in the first half but failed to live up to the expectations in the second half has to be Die Another Day . The movie was pure gold in the first half had the most memorable scenes . Cave Man Bond Appearing at the Hotel or the Peirce Water Boarded / Choking on his own blood with insert of insert Madonna's track .
if the movie was better made Die Another Day Intro Track would have been my all time favorite : D

The official music theme for Bond will always have a special place in my heart. You know, in Sicily there's a local channel that plays all the classic Bond movies in succession every week each year all the way up to Dalton's movies. I haven't kept up since I've been away and I really miss it ;_; but since I was a kid, I've never missed a single movie.

for me it's Pierce Brosnan. the first bond film i watched was GoldenEye. he was great and he did get stuck with the cliches but he pulled it off. as i was growing up i grew up with him. to me he is Bond. though saying that Craig is doing a great job humenising Bond. rather than a flawless Super Agent.
James Bond franchise is going in the right direction IMO with craig at the helm. we should also be asking who is the best BondGirl. Michelle Yeoh did a great service for the Bond woman in making them as able as Bond rather than just someone who needs to be rescued. though for me Carey Lowell in Licence to Kill. i fell for her stright away. no reason why still to this day. something about her. also i like Eva Green in Casino Royal. she was great and there is something about her that just draws you in. as for the villen i do like Sean Bean. again Goldeneye but he was good. also in Goldfinger i can't remember his name but he was good to. i think Pussy Galore comes from that film as well. i don't think they would be able to get away with a name like that now-a-days.

A portion of Ireland is in Britain... ___ That being said, while I applaud the inclusion ofGeorge Lazenby, this thread is still missing some pivotal names: Where are David Niven, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Barbara Bouchet, Joanna Pettet, Terence Cooper and Daliah Lavi, all of who have played James Bond? And where is Neil Connery, Woody Allen or Corey Burton? |

I enjoyed most of the Bond movies, but Connery was like the sole presence in his movies including the movie itself. That makes him really special. And for that reason, I don't think there will ever be a Bond, who can perform better than Sean Connery, if the main criteria is the match with the character itself, that is, charisma and strength, enough to put him in front of everything.

I do not know about the contract of the current James Bond, but I wonder if the studios in charge of the movies will stick to one actor for several movies as Sean Connery and Roger Moore managed to?
Pierce Brosnan managed to keep the role for a while, but he didn't lasted for as many movies as the other two.

In a way, I thinks is better for the character to have a bit of consistency......... if only for a few movies.

The entire reason for the franchise reboot was to make a Bond franchise more true to the original literature. ^^; So Connery, while he may be the classic Bond to most of us, is actually not the original Bond. ^^;

IMO the only bad actor they chose was Roger Moore. I didn't like the comedy-like Bond films of his time. I haven't seen OHMSS to know what Lazenby was like, I heard he wasn't so bad. Timothy Dalton had a gritty air of agent-like badassery about him which was cool, but Brosnan is who I get immediately reminded of whenever "007" is mentioned. Sean Connery is the "60's" Bond, who was good, but Bond has changed. Daniel Craig is badass, and I like the new movies better than most of the old ones (Goldeneye and The World is not Enough are the best IMO)but he just doesn't seem like 007. That's ok though, since he still pwns in the true badass fashion.

His different and contrasting style to Connery's Bond made Moore a respectable James Bond. The rest couldn't bring much to deserve that praise, except for maybe Craig, because of the fresh feel he brought in.
In my opinion, only Connery and Moore (and maybe Craig) deserved the name, the rest were pretty much your regular Joe-spy. |

I'm actually torn between Sean And Daniel. Sean had that classy (may I say cliche) attitude + the sexy Scottish accent going on. While Daniel is more, can I say a fashionable upgrade that comes with the "new age". On a whole, I like the Bond that Craig is portraying more because he seems colder, more realistic and far less cheesy. I understand that cheese was just the way things were done in the times of Sean, but it doesn't really work for me. As for movies, I also prefer the newer ones. The older ones had really ridiculous super hero like villains...My fav movie is Casino royale.

Tricky one this is cause I think they were all great Bonds in their own way but I'd have to go with Brosnan. I think he suited the role the best simply cause he looked the part more than the rest not to say his acting didn't carry him or anything bad
plus Goldeye is my fav Bond flick, just love it! Connery is my 2nd pick, as he is Connery on a side note, best Bond girl is Xenia Onatopp from Goldeneye played by Famke Janssen, something about the crazy bitch that just flips a switch

Just like how the recent serious superhero movies have taken a turn for a more realistic, human approach to the characters and film itself (ie. Batman), Bond is doing much of the same. I prefer it this way, so my vote is for Craig. His acting also contributes to the selection as much as how his character is written of course. Connery isn't far behind, being the first in the role, and first impressions do last.
