6 was excellent, the opening scene really caught me off guard since I wasnt expecting to see her cry. The fly was creeeeeeepy o_o The build up over the past several epis has been awesome and finally seeing the Doctor loose his cool was very human of him. I didnt like that he lashed out at my Seishin though Loved the titles of the movies Natsuno got I agree with Shiro that the Doc's reaction to himself saying the word "vampire" was the best part.

I seriously can't blame you for reading spoiler tags, though i do believe that this show is best enjoyed when you have no idea what's going to happen next, so try and hold yourself back next time.

I'd never thought that the monk might be writing vampire novels, I thought the just wrote your generic mystery ones, though if they were vampire stories that could explain the little girl's fasination with them.
Geeze doc, this is no time to be having daddy issues! But his spark of inspiration at the end made up for it, so now we have one adult and three kids who believe the vampire theory and accoding to the OP theory they might be the only ones who survive then.

And I am totally in love with the OP now, can't wait to hear a full version of it.

This episode certainly turned out to be quite interesting. The opening sequence was amazing and I felt really bad for Megumi. I loved how they showed her crying and then the reason for it. I have always been a huge Megumi fan but this certainly made me side with her even more. I also loved the her look right at the end of the intro. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned indeed. I can't wait to see what she'll do next.

I understand why the doctor is feeling so utterly frustrated. People in the village are dropping like flies and he can't do anything about it. That must hurt when you're a doctor and have been raised with a philosophy of "a villagers death is a disgrace to our family". I like how he begun to notice that the people he was treating all had two puncture bites and after Natsunos question is at last thinking about supernatural causes. At least this made some sense, why would a doctor suspect the supernatural until he has tried all other ways. But this leads to another question, how come Tooru lacked bite marks? Is Megumi that skilled in killing people now or do the wounds heal themselves? It felt like that when we were shown Masao.

It was nice to see how Seishin worried that Sunako might also catch "the disease" and warned her about it. Seeing as how she asked if it was still alright for her to enter the church have led me to suspect that the vampires can also be forbidden from entering a house they already have gotten access too. This might prove to be an important point later. The two children certainly have their death flags flying high as they watched the castle.

I'm curious if the children will actually die since they're not shown as skeletons in the OP if I remember correctly. They are however shown to be watched over by animal hair guy which leads me into thinking that they might not be killed by the vampires but rather kept under watch.

Seeing Megumi's reaction this episode leads me into believing that the rest of Tooru's family will have a limited life expectancy. She certainly seemed furious and it would be a nice way to torture him with. But since she's still in love with Natsuno there's also the possibility that she'll bring Tooru with her next time she "visits" his house which would certainly freak Natsuno out. I'm certainly intrigued to see what happens next.

So it seems that Seishin is writing novels which include vampires or okiagari and referred to the villlage as being surrounded by death if I'm not entirely mistaken. If one considers that Sunako is fan of these books it seems to me that the vampires are just playing along with his novels. THey are creating a village surrounded and watch over by death. Either that or Sunako is playing a truely cruel joke on Seishin when he realises what's going on. I'm excited to see when he will make the connections that our good doctor and the children have made. On that note I believe that at one point Seishin will either be invited to the castle or he will see one of the recently dead people at which point Sunako will offer to turn him.

The people who have moved out. Do you think that they have also been killed and it's a way of covering the tracks or have they realised that they are targets and fled the village? I'm more leaning towards the former and I think that's why the truck is from the same company. They're moving their things into the castle so they can be nice and comfortable. But seeing as how people are being turned into vampires left and right I'm questioning the control the castle family (can't remember their name right now) have over them. Since Megumi is obviously coming and going it seems to be that the new vampires are on a fairly long leash which might muck up the situation later.

Yup, show's picking up now that people are starting to realise what might be happening even though it's unbelievable for them. Some more back story for the characters, people starting to show fear and that story about "Okiagari", the dead coming to get bad children, lol.

I wonder if little Sunako will help Seishin and the others survive, though?

Kind of felt sorry to see Megumi crying but she asked for it... And Masao, no one cares ^^;

Anyone visited the official site for this show recently? Caught me off by surprise, lol. They must have caught onto that screenshot spreading around 2ch or something.

Still over 2 weeks for the OP. Hope they don't ruin the full version!

I'm too lazy to go back and check the dates on the meetings and the book check outs, but the monk told the little girl that he had read up on her condition and it seems like he checked out the vampire books recently. I wonder if reading up on it meant researching the disease and getting inspired about vampires or if he started researching vampires from the start.

No way would they move out without saying a word, those people got wiped out for sure.

It is very likely they were abducted, since several characters couldn't get the new address of those who have moved.
The biggest clue was the family of that young policeman. He just had died, and his family moved out, without even preparing funerals whatsoever.

Well the one common thing noticed is that none of them applied to move their national registered residential address (戶口) which is very unusual. Since in asian countries tonnes of government functions are tied to it.

At least two books on vampires were checked out by Muroi-san on 28 August. This episode takes place in late September.

Muroi-san's first meeting with Sunako appears to have been on the August 25th. It was at least definitely before Aug 28. His second meeting wasn't until 5 September, at the earliest, according to the on-screen dates.

This makes it seem as if he was researching vampires for his own work, since there wasn't much in that first meeting to raise suspicions. The idea of the disease that kept Sunako out of sunlight only came up in the second meeting.

It's getting harder not to just pick up the manga!

It may have been mentioned before, in which case I missed it, but episode 6 also gives us an explanation for why vampires are the last things on the everyone's minds: "the village still retains a tradition of burying its dead". In Japan, as in most Eastern/Buddhist(?) countries, people usually cremate their deceased relatives. Not only are vampires in most - if not all - traditions weak to fire, if a body is reduced to ashes, there's no way it can take its place among the undead in the first place. Vampires are a Western tradition that have spread across here in film and books etc, but unless you're into such stories, I'd say it is pretty plausible that no one would think of it for a while.

If it had been one family Id maybe agree that someone figured it out but with everyone leaving I doubt any of the victims families that "left" had any idea what was going on. Abduction? maybe, the weirdos on the hill probably take down a family at a time. Also this is a close nit community of gossipers, if someone had been tipped off, word would have spread. Right now even the gossipers still arent considering the new family only that one lady was. A good point was brought up that the one victim died before the family moved it, I still dont quite get that.

Also given what the kids saw at the end of the episode, it does seem like the lesser vampires might be supplying the main family. Sunako said her mom also suffers from the same disease but didnt mention dad. Im wondering if dad and cat-boy are different from them somehow even though we've still only seen each of the family members only at night.

I wonder why Seishin didnt tell the doc about Sunako or about her "disease" in his little report espc if he'd chked out the vampire book because of her. I guess I get why he didnt specifically mention vampires but filling the doc in about her might help.
