Though to give a more complete answer, I also do some timing when I absolutely have to. But editing is my main job in Triad, besides bitching at the other members for no good reason.

Ep 12, an action packed episode. It is not obviously from manga vol 1 and 2. Finally the girls work as team in CQB scenario.

Spoiler:

Angelica felt very isolated and useless despite the success of the mission. Claes finally take down her trigger and kill terrorist ruthlessly unarmed whereas the other 3 slaughtering the terrorist fast with their respective weapons.

The bomber pair from earlier episode is obviously have conscience, as this episode demostrated. I think Claes slapped Angelica out of sadness, she certainly hates to see her comrade wallowing in self pity. I think the last episode will be the girls bunch up together and sing a song in the field while looking at the shooting stars which shown in manga vol 2.

Pretty good episode.

Wow! #12 was a decent ep, action-packed...


Somehow I've come to think of the series as one where the ending is easily guessed, but once you see various other sides of the girls, you have so many more emotions when the ending happens.

It's a pity itw as 13 eps really... I should go get the manga. Anyone know if they have it in Singapore...

Ep 12 shows how this series could have been so much more than what it is. There is a great subplot that could have been explored between the 2nd division, the bomb makers, and the terrorists, but with only 1 more ep to go that will never happen.

Just think how good this series will be if they expand it to more than just 13 episodes. We're finally seeing cracks from the gunslinger girls. The overall plot thickens, and its reaching a breaking point and we're left with just one more episode to go.

While Kiddy Grade may be a completely different genre, I think it shares a similar theme to this series. Of course Kiddy Grade's first couple of episodes were pretty generic and boring. Then things reach a boiling at around episodes 11-12 just like this one and the series just takes off. Of course Gunslinger Girl is pretty exciting from beginning to end and I bet it would have been an amazing series if they continue to explore even more possibilities.

Anybody know how popular this show is? sometimes that is a bit of an indicator as to whether there will be another series, either that or how popular he manga is? I am still waiting for ep 2 of the manga to come out here in the states.

The series is of "above average" popularity. Its also published by MediaWorks, which has quite a bankroll for itself. There's a PS2 game for the title in the works for what its worth.

Anyone see episode 12, now that a fansub version is out?

At last... they've shown how awesome the Instructors are again (this time Jan), proven that Hillsire cares for the Getai, and shown what traits Claes "imprinted" from her late-Instructor) - like using physical abuse when angry.

The bombmakers is interesting bunch. I agree that they should have more story instead of just a brief cameos.

Well I went to Japan and ended up spending too much time in a magna store that was six floors high and managed to pick up too much anime (Whos ever heard of too much anime?) and empty my pockets. I ended up having to ask for a pickup. The third manga of gsg is not out yet (Is there a third? Well I hope you can answer and if the 18 or so pages does have the answer I appoligise in advance). But I did pick up the other two magnas. And after watching tweleve I hope the ending will be nice just like in magna.

I hope the ending is like third chapters on the second magna, though i can't read japanses its a very sweet ending with the girls getting along with eac other and angl getting flowers from marco. The chapter ends with the singing christmals songs (Or something of the sorts) and it even looks like the brothers (The masters) are having a good time too.

I'll try to sound as nice as possible, but what's niggly error supposed to be? An example or three might be nice to support your claim as well. Then again I thought this thread was to discuss Gunslinger Girl as a series, not as a fansub.

Once again, an example or 2? Often times there are very good reasons for this when it comes to editing that have absolutely zero impact on the translation as a whole.
