Tactical Roar
Didn't see a post about this one either, so:
Tactical Roar appears to be an anime about a bunch of girls on an escort ship (ahem…) who protect other ships from post-apocalyptic pirates. I’ll never understand why Japan’s supply of cute girls is always stationed on battleships and whatnot, but I’m not complaining either. Anyway, the trailer also hints that there might be some kind of harem aspect to this anime. The thing that worries me about Tactical Roar is the seemingly gratuitous use of CG. It it’s done well and fits the style of the anime, then awesome. That’s usually not the case, though. Here's the description from animenfo: Quote:

Saw it expecting some nice girly battleship fights.
Instead, got a story about excessive fan service! Kind of disappointed by the artwork, and the songs were kind of a letdown considering they were by yozuca* and Nakahara Mai. Not much to spoil, all I have to say is that the show has potential if they can concentrate on the plot and not on the blatant yuri aspects.

Just out of curiosity, read a summary about this show, and got pretty much intrigued about the OP song, since I kinda like Yozuca's Style, and according to the summary, she did a great job with a Fast-Paced Song this time.
So, if it's not that much of a bother, can anyone rip the song and post it here, or link me the song? Thanks in Advance |

I can't decide if this is supposed to be a [semi-] serious series with fan service to draw in the audience or a service show that tries to take itself seriously. Stereotype characters seem to be everywhere also.
Like eggplant, I also think that the series has potential to be more than decent if they concentrate more on developing the storyline and characters than the service bits. Initial rating: 3 / 10

I also agree that this can be a very good series, however I will not hold my breath waiting for it to become one. |

I really couldn't figure out why I watched all the way to the end. I thought maybe it was the fanservice. It couldn't have been the story, or the humor, or the animation. Then I read the list of the cast and realized it must have been they who reeled me in for at least another ep:
Nakahara Mai (Mai in Mai-HiME, etc.) Takahashi Mikako (Ayu in Honey & Clover) Ueda Kana (Yumi in Marimite, etc.) Arai Satomi (Kozue-chan in Mahoraba), et al.

A real let-down. Naval warfare is something I take great interest in. This honestly dissappointed me in terms of realism (okay, maybe I shouldn't always expect too much in military realism, but still) and the amount of service in the bloody thing.

It gets better. I like it. The fighting seems to make more sense, at least to an ignoramus in that area like me. The crew interactions work, for a light comedy-drama with some human emotion. There is less fanservice (although that never bothered me). I like some of the character design, especially the dangerous girl from the other ship. And the voices are good.

Much more fanservice this time. But also some plot development involving subterfuge in high places. I'm seeing a rather low-brow ambidextrous harem anime, with the female captain and her unrelated little brother as (non-competing) objects of affection for the all-female crew. The voice work remains very good.

We'll try to get out this as fast as we can. We know that we're after the raw's by 7 episodes, but we started on this project at sunday.
Also, karaoke and some new things will show up at the next episode. The next release will be around this weekend. You're always welcome with suggestions what we can do better. We know, you know that we aren't the best group out there. But we're a new group so there is much confusions involved, also this isn't an easy serie to translate. /me wants more Tactical Roar! |
