There are those who enjoy Slice of Life in general though. They will last.
This anime will suffer the same problem as Madoka (If you can call it that). Those who aren't enjoy moe magical girl won't last three episodes until the revelation. Those who do might be put off by violent and depressing theme the show had become. However, we all know that Madoka was a sounding success. So nothing to worry about here, I guess.

Wow I went into that without reading the series description and I was about to shut it off half way through thinking it was just another generic Slice-of-Life anime but wow that got really dark really fast, I'm looking forward to this one

Probably. Not like we see soldiers or police officers or other survivors in the street cleaning up the zombies so that the girls can leave without danger.
I must say I am really impressed with the girls though. We don't know if they all were friends before this happened, the whole senpai thing might even be a clue that they had been strangers before the zombie apocalypse happened. Yet during the crisis the girls still thought up a way to keep the broken MC in their group with their "Live at school" club idea so that she won't leave school in her delusion to go home to her probably already dead family. And then they keep playing along, greeting and apologizing to people nobody sees but the girl in her fantas world where everything is still safe and normal, although we see clues that even her world tries to tell her something is off like the chalk board in her classroom with the "Help!" and other stuff on it. So yeah, I am reall impressed by the girls to keep both their survival running as well as helping somebody else out to survive this mess.

Edit: Also, about the book... It's The Stand by Stephen King right? Maybe people that have read that book could chip in... Last edited by ices; 2015-07-15 at 17:22. Reason: add info about the book |

Anyway, back on topic, why in the world would you read about fictional apocalypse when you're living in one?

Episode 2:
Ah, it got dark this episode especially in the second half. There's a bit of change to the OP theme song as well.... Spoiler:
There are still some lighthearted moments though but don't expect anything too cute.

Great epi 2, loved the changes to the OP
Nice to see how everyone else sees everything. Im starting to think Megu-nee is Yuki's coping mechanism. It's pretty obvious she's not real even though even after epi 1 I was debating, but after the library scene to me Megu is Yuki's mind dealing with everything. The speech on "they'll protect you". Yuki may not have accepted whats going on but her mind is aware of it. Still not sure why it would suggest a Test of Courage though. Again all speculation on my part.

Kurumi-chan's the best, my total fav girl! <3
So the first person she had to kill to survive was her Senpai she was in love with, that sucks, as horrible as having to kill a family member or a good friend to not die. She was really troubled during the whole episode, waking up at night due her nightmares, always reminded of the people she "killed" had been old friends, classmates or just normal people with their own families and lovers before all of this. :c I really like her active role as defender of the group/zombie killer, somebody like that is needed in a zombie apocalypse although they carry the biggest risk due being so close to the zombie to kill them with a melee weapon. One zombie is fine but what if two or even three come at her at once... Yuki seems to have developped a guardian angel system in her mind with Megu-nee, the personalized part of her which knows whats going on but cannot go through to Yuki, yet. The others act the same way with "Megu-nee's with her, so we know she won't leave school to go home". This school really seems to be build to survive an apocalpse of some sort, an in-build full store with EVERYTHING in it from food, water, cand to stuff like buckets, gardening tools and soaps. And then they got solarpanel generators and a rooftop garden, all already pre-build by the school administration and the garden club. Lucky! Really liked the changed OP, wonder if that is the final one or if it will continue to change throughout the series. Also liked how Yuki's safe and healthy world often shows "cracks" in form of broken windows or equipment. Or like the scene where we see from her perspective where everything is fine in the 1-1 study to Megu-nee's where we see the broken chairs and tables and blood in the shadows. Was pretty cool to see the zombie's view, they're not blind, they react to not only sound but light and movement as well. They also seem to keep some memeories from their old lives as they leave school to go home (or stand before said home) and then go back to school the next morning. Expect some who wandered too far into school to get out like the girl before the barricade or the boy in the library. So the girls could leave at night if need comes to shove. Hope we get to see Miki's survival in the mall next, I wanna see that, not just hear them talk about it.^^

some hint in EP2 that support 'revert color uniform theory'
remember a zombie girl that kurumi killed? on her cellphone. a photo of her with her BF. and she is in blue uniform but from perspective of the show, her uniform in zombie form is green. i dont think that photo can lie or being hellu' so the original color of uniform is surely blue and this show often show in yuki's perspective. then color of uniform that relate to the 'broken' (real) world will show in yuki's eye as green(inverted) so blue = original and peaceful color from former world? green = darken color of broken world, and only show yuki's eye? |
