It's been a virtual impossibility, by the math, for Romney to win for the last hour or so.

The real nail-biter is which major network is going to be the first to call the election.

Federal laws preempts state laws, so even if the state considers it legal, it has little impact in the Federal govt's ability to prosecute if they should decide to do so.

It basically comes down to an enforcement issue for the Feds, including whether or not they would challenge the new laws in the SCOTUS.

While Ron Paul is someone I can admire for his courage to stick to with what he has been saying for the last three decades, he just would not have sold his agenda to the majority of the Americans. While Mitt might be a changeling, at least he is got enough to give Obama run for his money. I'm afraid that wouldn't have been doable with Ron Paul.

Anyway, with 87% reported in Florida, Obama is edging Romney by 49.9% to 49.3%. Nate Silver's 50.3% edge to Obama seems all too surreal. Hang on to your kuma-pantsus.

I'm going to bet right now the US has a high chance of "falling off the fiscal cliff" in 2013 because -->

87% reported, but only 57% of Miami Dade.

It's almost only Miami for Florida now, Obama's lead should increase.

Obama could just wait for the Bush tax cuts to expire, then try to get a bill passed that reduces taxes for < 250k.

Did anyone just see Sarah Palin on Fox News just now. I'd swear I heard a violin playing in the background during her whole spiel.

LOL!

She should just retire for everyone's sake, especially for American women whom she gives a black eye with her "particular" opinions.

Thing is, I don't actually know anyone with a head for math who actually had much doubt that Obama was going to win re-election (I also suspect that's a reason why there were zero credible candidates seeking the Republican nomination in the primaries; it was about as laughable a field as when Kerry won the Democrat's nomination). Obviously, the game has to be played (afterall, the Cowboys somehow have managed to win a few games this season ), but this was never the close race the media trumped it up to be.

I do think the popular vote will be relatively close though, which-to me-speaks volumes. Romney is a horrible candidate, and the only reason the popular vote will be close is because there's a lot of anger towards Obama and the direction this country is going.

If one in a million chance that were to happen, GOP will pretty much destroy itself. 2014 isn't that far in the calendar. Anyway I think, there will be a deal with the Democrats' compromising by not hiking the tax rate above 30% for the rich. Right now I understand the Dems want to increase to 37% or higher.

Remember when the Vice President was a great source of comedy?

Sometimes I miss Dan Quayle.

You must have no sense of humor if Biden isn't supplying enough comedy for you.

Naturally I disagree.

However, that's water over the dam now and we'll never know.

At least there will be 2 more years of gridlock, that'll keep these clowns from doing too much more damage.
