I wonder why this extremely attractive title has NO coverage on this forum ?

Anyway, Akumetsu.



Nagasawa Shiina was just your average 3rd year high schooler when her parents’ company went bankrupt. In order to pay the bills, her family sells her into prostitution. At her first job, a mysterious masked man crashes the party…and its someone she knows… Akumetsu is the story of Hazama Shou, who defends his own view of justice in a vigilante manner while wearing a mask and calling himself Akumetsu, or “evil destroyer.” (Taken from AT-T page.)

Basically what we have here is an anti-hero with the kind of aspirations Yagami Light would approve, that chose the way to "cure" Japan from the cancer of corrupt politicians and fat useless bankers. Except if Light-kun used his clean little notebook - Akumetsu uses more impressive methods, such as an axe in the head, shooting off fingers one-by-one, and pushing people off the roofs. All the while having dozens of witnesses.

One would ask why he wasnt captured yet ? Simple trick, really. After every "justice act" he blows up his own head. Thats it, case closed. Except he comes back again and again.

The ending sucks though. It's fun, but repetitive so there isn't much to discuss about next to how he pulls it off. =o

I dont think 99,9% of us will see the ending in our lifetimes, so its okay.

True, it IS, in a sense, repetitive. Nothing really changes as to how or why he kills. But saying its repetitive is like saying Batman going after the Joker is repetitive; same concepts, different implementation.

I finally got up to chapter 30 today, and it was cool how he would kill, then get rid of his "evidence". I suppose, for me, I had expected to be some legitimate reason for

him to keep coming back alive, but it turned out to be supernatural after all. Not that it's a bad thing mind you, I just expected something different. Plus I can never get enough snippets of romance, so it's good Shiina's gonna support him, though I doubt that if she was in Shou's shoes, she split a dirty politician's head open with a rockaxe

I agree that this is a really good manga... still at the early chapters but so far it kept me entertained. Is is manga finished already? Cause i can only find until chapter 56 translated...

Since I don't understand the Japanese language 100%, I can only say that:

In the last volume, someone basically take the entire Shou (Akumetsu)'s class as hostages. His girlfriend (Shina) is shot during the incident. Bu it seems she survives due to Shou using his equipment. And then we have timeskip, Shin a (or her clone) works as reporter right now and meet with an old guy who seems to be Shou

That guy at the end is the former prime minister dude (same hair, same mole on the forehead). I think there was a ten year timeskip or something. After the explosion in class, Shou used his mask on the fatally wounded Shina so that she would revive, but he himself died apparently (just guessing from pictures here, plus he said before that if he dies without wearing the mask it's fatal).

He gave up his "Immortality" to save her. And I ain't going to lie it was pretty epic of the Akumetsu's and how they took everyone out.
