12 episodes? i thought it was 13

Another reason i like is because of Nanaka's Tsun-Tsun personality. Looks like another Tsun-dere character is born.

Just watched episode 4, it was pretty good. I have definitely become used to Aoi's voice now, it didn't bother me at all. The episode had a different feel to it than the others since it focused mainly on the new character. There was a small development in the back story though

Spoiler for Sana Backstory:

So far so good - I must admit I'm digging the group dynamic in the series. Sana can be a little slow at times, but he seems to mean well. I like how everyone seems to get along and they actually act like friends.

As for Sana and his mother...

I think we've established this fact during the first ep and about 20 pages ago. Yes Sana obviously has alot of secrets and skeletons in his closet, speculations are high as to what it may be, hopefully each new ep would at a piece to this jigsaw.

I see a number of people ask this question whenever a new forum is created for a series. Our standards for creating a forum have nothing to do with the show's merits and everything to do with the fanbase.

A show can be complete crap and we'll give it a forum as long as it is popular. And this show gets so many posts and views by so many different people that its popularity was impossible for us to ignore. By contrast, the most brilliant show to have ever been aired would not get a forum if it was only discussed by a fairly small fanbase. That's why Naruto has a forum while Mushi-shi does not.

As for M;Y I have to say that while it doesn't aspire to the level of artistry that Mushi-shi accomplished, it certainly is a very enjoyable show with much more on the ball than most of its genre.

I dont know if anyone noticed or maybe someone posted this before me
But why does Sana have a conversation with his mother every episode?
Maybe thats supposed to mean something or just come child and parent love

It isn't abnormal. People keep in contact with others, even when apart.

Well he is a high school student living on his own and most of the calls seem to be of the "are you eating right and going to school?" variety, so it's probably a pretty safe guess that his mom is just checking up on him.

There is speculation that she's worried about him for reasons beyond that, but nothing definitive so far.

Nobody thinks it is abnormal in reality. But everyone thinks that it is abnormal in anime. While this is absolutely realistic I also have to wonder if this is foreshadowing some unusual plot point simply because it is rather unique in anime.

Isn't it terrible that in anime parents are usually missing without any comment or interest? I like that the mother attempts to be part of his life this way. Yet still... one has to wonder if it really means something... or if it is just an attempt at a realistic mother/son relationship.

oh how cynical we've become concerning parents in anime haha. The fact that when we see any parent child interaction we automatically assume that somethings going on and I for one am guilty of that assumption also.

It might just be parent/child interaction but i doubt that is the case.

I think the phone conversation in EP4 reveals a lot. I'm guessing that these phone calls are a plot device to give the audience a chance to explore Sana's emotional state without making him look too emo.

On top of that, it seems as though he is very honest with his mother. He doesn't seem to glaze over when he talks to her. If he feels like crap, he sounds like crap. And he comes across as being comfortable with that only when addressing his mother. Plus, he's willing to ask her about somewhat embarrassing subjects. I'd say his relationship with her is far better than usual for an Anime lead. Forgive me for being an optimist.

---

Now, can someone please explain to me why Aoi is still my favorite character even after Hinako shows up? Please! How can I live with myself if I prefer the massive-boob girl over the loli!?!?!? That's it... I'm going to marathon Chobits tonight to cleanse my pallet.

Sana's mom doesn't want him to have girl friends from the way they are talking

Wouldn't be the first time i seen a character list the exact opposite of what their future lovers traits are. Cant think of any examples right now but i wouldn't be surprised in the least if we have twincest by the end of the series.

Yea ive seen cases like that as well but for this series it seems rather unlikely - with it can happen its best not to get your hopes up, so if it does happen it will be a pleasent surprise ^^
