saphyre's vectors
I started learning how to vector a week ago after coming across a pretty decent tutorial.
I'm making this thread to post my works, as well as for you to comment on what I do and do not need improvement on. At the moment I've made three, I know it isn't but please bare with me, I'll make more when I can T_T. Anyway let's get started. Here's the first one: Spoiler:
This one was very first one I made, it was the tutorial picture from the tutorial. I pretty much followed the step by step instructions for this one. Second one: Spoiler:
I really had... NO idea whatsoever on how to do the eyes. The ones I did there were pretty much made up and it looks kind of weird. Third one: Spoiler:
I finished this one yesterday, it was my first time actually editting an image. Overall I really liked this one but there are a few areas I think looked abit weird. Fourth one: Spoiler:
So... that's it... go nuts

Ah so you just started out, even still your vectors are pretty good. I used the same tutorial as you to learn myself XD, it was pretty helpful. My results for my first few vectors were horrible compared to yours .
The first one's colors are a little strange but it was just to give you an idea of the basics so it doesn't count I guess. The second one is good except the skin color seems a tad bit odd. And the third one is the best, absolutely made of win XD, great job. I wish to see more of your work as you get better and better, keep it up. You deserve a cookie~ *hands you the cookie* .

Yay, you used the same guide as me for starting. Your first it's a million times better than mine, btw.

As for the second one, some unfinished shading. Mainly notable at the right side hair. But i can see a nice improvement on the vectors from first to last. What i think can use some work is color choice on Miku and outline color/look on last two vectors. Overall GJ.

First of all, thanks for the comments
On the...? Didn't finish the sentence lol. But yeah, I did think it looked abit weird. Right, now that you mention it, I do see a few spots. Heh, yeah. I thought the skin colour on the original was a bit bright so I darkened it abit... It looked alright at first but looking at it now, it does look weird. I'm too lazy to fix it though so I'll just leave it as that. I'll make sure the ones I make in the future won't have that problem. Anyway, I'll try my best in improving in those areas.

I was going to try tracing Kotomi from this picture: There aren't many (or any) pictures of Kotomi with her violin besides this one so I thought it'd be nice, but I think it's still out of my league. I still can't tell where to shade properly and stuff and her hair seems like a handful to do too lol T_T. Anywho, I'll give it a shot when I have the time, thanks for the tip.

Good work! Now for the feedback thingie. I think the outline of her his skin is waay to light. The fingers of the right hand pretty much disappear in the shadow because of this. The other thing that gets me is her his missing foot. Perhaps you could copy and flip the other one to fix this? I just dont buy that the whole feet is behind the towel as it is. Even if just a bit shows, it should be enough to do the trick...... I think. EDIT: You could also fix the towel a bit, btw.

I tried copying and flipping the foot but it looked weird, so I just moved the towel up a little.
