Yes they do, some extremists actually think about the things they are doing might be "wrong" which is surprising in a way..

Interestingly, in the same time the inhabitants of the Algerian village of Aghribs proceed to level the construction site of a much controversial new mosque, amid concerns of salafism encroaching over their traditions.

This was apparently, and unsurprisingly, followed by a call to jihad.

(sorry but all the news sources I could find were in French)

thats not entirely true
the differences between the teachings of the individual religions has a considerable effect
an increase in fundamentalist Jainism wouldn't result in more violence

And speaking of Jainism, having visited a few Jain temples on my visit to western India and learning a bit about their beliefs, I do have a tremendous amount of respect for their beliefs regarding life and existence, despite how absolutist some of those teachings are.

I'm always real tempted to confine my acidic remarks to the J-C-I branches, which seem rather superlative in their violent tendencies. But that wouldn't be utterly true.

Probably the most bothersome thing about Islam to me is its affect on existing cultures it encroaches on (somewhat like the Christian steamroller effect over the last thousand years on many cultures).

Oh, wait till you see the extremist versions of Haruhiism and Horoism - the effects on their followers are just as bad as extremist Islam.

Abrahamic religions has somehow bred a yangire obession over the centuries, from the Crusades to the Age of Exploration, then to today (and not forgetting World War II). The Saracens (or Muslims in Crusade times) conquered their enemies and enslaved them, and only released them on the account that the slaves and prisoners convert or teach ten Muslims children to read and write. It is obvious that this is a false choice because the children have to be taught in Arabic from the Koran.

The Christians are no better. They do the same, except that they are more straightforward (hold a sword to the prisoner's head, and say "Convert or else!").

Then came the segregation in parts : the Christians started sects and cults which offshoot into stuff like Anglican, Protestant, Catholic, Jehovah Witness, etc while the Muslims did the same - into Sunni, Shi'ite, Bah'ai, etc, mainly because of the New Testament. The Judaists decide to "screw the New Testament, let's stick with the old" and received flak from the other two Abrahamic sects.

In short, they are all fighting with and amongst their own people, be it Semetism, Islamophobia or Christian Imperialism. Any guy who espouses his own religion over others as superior (save for Horo-ism and Haruhiism) can't be very smart with all those cop-outs drilled into his head.

Ok, the Koran burning was canceled, so why wasn't burning our flag canceled too? You give them a cookie, they take the whole jar and then smash the empty jar in your face.

If someone else is a son of a bitch doesn't mean you have to be one too.

Flag burning happened before that non-evenement, it would have been only another reason for a display of crowd's anger.

It seems that it's not just Ground Zero where it's not Kosher to build new mosques.

This really seriously puts into question how much of this recent rage against the New York mosque has to actually to do with respect for the site, and more to do with a more general mad on.

They are all going to hell anyway, Christians and Muslims.

Everyone knows the True Church is the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Here is an interesting story;

California Sheriffs Issue 'Pedo Bear' Warning

Quote:
A sheriff's department in California is warning residents about the dangers of Pedo Bear, a mascot used by pedophiles to connect with other pedophiles.

Zoom

If you're a regular internet user, there's a good chance you're familiar with Pedo Bear, the meme made popular by 4Chan. In case you're not, Pedo Bear is a cartoon drawing of a bear that users post when someone on the internet is being creepy about children.

California's San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department has heard of Pedo Bear, too. Unfortunately, they are mistaken in how they think how Pedo Bear is used. According to a recent report from KSBY TV, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department is warning people that pedophiles are using Pedo Bear as a marker to identify themselves as such. The sheriff's department says that although Pedo Bear's origins can be traced to a Japanese cartoon, he has been adopted as a mascot by pedophiles. The sheriff's department says people should exercise caution if they encounter anyone in a Pedo Bear costume, or with a Pedo Bear car decal....

It has begin to dawn on me how idiots are beginning to dominate sales departments of big companies.

eBay pwns Tiffany in counterfeit jewelry suit
Pun unintended.

Quote:
(Reuters) - EBay Inc on Monday won dismissal of a Tiffany & Co lawsuit accusing the auctioneer of deceiving customers by allowing the sale of counterfeit Tiffany jewelry on its website.

U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan in Manhattan rejected Tiffany's allegation that eBay engaged in false advertising, the last remaining claim after a federal appeals court on April 1 dismissed the rest of Tiffany's trademark infringement case.

The case has been viewed as a challenge in the United States to Internet companies such as eBay, Google Inc and others that host services that other people provide, and do not responsible for users' trademark violations.

"Tiffany failed to establish that eBay intentionally set out to deceive the public, much less that eBay's conduct was of an egregious nature sufficient to create a presumption that consumers were being deceived," the judge wrote.

Mark Aaron, a Tiffany spokesman, declined to comment. Michelle Fang, eBay's associate general counsel, called the ruling "an unequivocal validation of eBay's business practices."

About $3.99 billion, or 46 percent, of eBay's 2009 revenue came from the United States, a regulatory filing shows.

Tiffany accused eBay of advertising the sale of its goods through ads on its website, and through sponsored links on search engines, which would sometimes link to its own website and exhort readers to "Find Tiffany items at low prices."

Sullivan agreed with Tiffany that eBay knew "a portion" of the goods being sold were fake.

But he said Tiffany failed to show that eBay's advertisements misled customers or necessarily implied that all Tiffany products sold on its website were genuine.

"Tiffany has failed to present evidence that rises to the high level of egregious misconduct required to demonstrate that eBay had an intent to deceive customers," he wrote.

Sullivan also pointed to eBay efforts to fight fraud, which the company has said costs up to $20 million a year.

In its April 1 ruling, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals had upheld Sullivan's July 2008 dismissal of most of Tiffany's lawsuit, saying that "eBay did not itself sell counterfeit Tiffany goods; only the fraudulent vendors did."

Tiffany is based in New York and eBay in San Jose, California.

The case is Tiffany (NJ) Inc et al v. eBay Inc, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, No. 04-04607

Fox News and guilt by association? Shocking, I tell you.

It's like Jeremiah Wright all over again.

Of course, since Glen Beck is a crazy radical and all the Fox News people associate with him, then they must all be crazy radicals too.

That one might be more on the "Odd News" section.

Personally, they should've done better research understanding about *chan memes.
