I guess this is the main component, or maybe not. It really depends. It's shouting 1am at my clock so I'm rushing typing this. Latest work at the top. No point looking, really. Viewing my art may give you nightmares and one may lapse into permanent coma from sheer disgust. This is both an arbitrary warning and a responsibility disclaimer.

Omgosh I took forever to vector this. Uhh though it's only my third (or maybe second) try at this sort of stuff I think I'm never going to do this again. Too time consuming. Maybe after exams >_>

Since I fail thoroughly at making wallpapers, I'd just post the white background version. This is jpeg so it isn't transparent.


Hmm... Kagami again. This is probably my first vector. As in, pure vector using shapes. Lucky star characters seem simple to trace. When I traced this though, I hadn't even heard of the convert point tool yet. See, I suck that bad.


I believe this' my very first trace. At that time I had some primitive intepretation of the term 'tracing' but I really didn't know anything else, so it was done using FILL.

Note: I really can't post anything preceding the Shinku sketch... the rest are just too terrible. >_>. The Kagami vector is for nostalgic purposes. ^^

Well, there actually isn't much in this section. I play the piano, but I tend to refrain from attempting anything novel and I don't usually record myself. I actually don't know why I have this second section here. Newest at the bottom.

We picked him up from the road a couple of years ago.

His burden was light, but his frame was so brittle it threatened to break anytime; so fragile that we concluded that it was a miracle that we found him in one piece. And while he clung onto the threads of life so frail we calmed ourselves with bliss as we accepted that very burden of his.

But that was then.

That was then, that we were still we. Slowly; gradually, we disappeared one by one. Some of the kind ones left parting notes, while the others ceased ungraciously. As reality moved on it was then left him and I. While it was hasty it pained me whenever he was in my presence; reeking of an unwelcome reminiscence of the past: a past that I could not hold on to but neither wanted to lose, and it clung on to me with exactly the same willpower that he fought with back in the early days.

It was back in the early days that we accepted him as 'Kyu'.

Why?
I can't remember either.
Could it be, the sound he made whilst we kept to him plenty? Or the times he sounded when we were worried in the times of darkness? His impertinent youthful habits I never once forgot, and it kept the others bliss as well. But as time washed its waters upon our shores of reality it seemed that our time together, with me and them, seemed more and more like a waging gap, bridged by Kyu, drifting along a somewhat aimless sea of persistent illusions.

Yet, it was not that we each wanted Kyu, and it was not that had we any obsession of sorts. Neither was it of jealousy that we wished to deprive each other so viciously; we all loved Kyu, and we knew, and respected each of ourselves with that love. Yet, it was exactly because of that that we felt that our love for each other was simply because of Kyu; because a spiritual manifestation of Kyu lived in each and every one of us, and held us together.

That very poignant angst rendered us hopeless for each other, a bittersweet irony that told us we would eventually lose one another, and every one of us up till the very last.

It was...

It was for that very time that I realised I could not even remember some of their names.

Kyu recognised it too, and thus he spoke to us.

"My dears and masters:
Kyu thanks us all for his upbringing. It has been a while being with all of you, but please do not feel shameful, nor burdened, for Kyu was never entitled to your care and concern right from the beginning. It was out of the kindness of your heart that Kyu has become what he is today, and for that, Kyu is eternally grateful: yours truly, sincerely, and forever in debt. Yet, do not take Kyu too much to heart, and remember, that if there ever comes a day that you do not have Kyu, you will still have each other."

His voice was painted with such unwavering sincerity, that we were thoroughly perturbed, and somewhat anxious. It was rare that we saw him this serious, and it was that very moment we suddenly realised we had not known Kyu for who he was either.

During those times of darkness, we continued moving on because we were so sure the sun would come up again the next morning. We just knew that when the lights came back on we would see Kyu again, and that we would also see each other.

It still came, anyway, the withdrawal that Kyu anticipated. One by one they could not fulfill the promises they so willingly gave to Kyu back then. One by one they begin to lose faith, in both Kyu and themselves.

I could not comprehend. A spate of grief and agony atop relief, but ever so silently. On one hand knew I had lost a part of me so dearly. Yet on the other, I felt vaguely eased. It was like removing an incredible burden in my heart but leaving a malignant void in the process.

I held Kyu close to me as we listened to the songs of spring; the requiem of the zephyr wing as it breezed past us. The intricate melody we could have never heard with the presence of the others: downing voices of the past, in cheers or in chatters, and though they rang unbelievably harmonious with each other I remember I could still hear them as individuals, and could pick out their voices one by one.

One by one, especially Kyu, of course.

I wasn't even sure if I was lonely. I had Kyu, whom I was closest with. If I was lonely, then I should have always been- after all, I had not much known the others that well either.

It was peculiar, what we did for each other, and together. Things like setting up communities, and naming Kyu. It was like some unspoken mutual trust we had for each other without even knowing it.

"Kyu," I asked softly, "do you remember how we named you?"

His eyes strayed for a little as he kept that question by his lips. The winds played their melodies calmly and he spoke briefly.

"Kyu does not know..."

"But...;"

I paused- I wasn't surprised- I just felt queer.

"But why don't you know!...;"

As though I was almost demanding of his past.

"But why?
Why?" Kyu protested."Do you doubt the choice of your friends just because they left you with the burden of Kyu? Because they left without a word? Because they were not what you once thought they were?"

"Kyu!" I shouted under my breath, almost pleadingly, "You are not a burden!"

In a mix of emotions I could not tell if I was issuing a command, a request, or if I was just simply begging him to empathize with my disposition.

"Please do not lie to Kyu! If Kyu is a burden, then Kyu will leave!"

And when he said that I could not tell if it was his childish mentality or if he really knew it deep down inside. Kyu was indeed a burden to I, and was a burden to the rest too. And it was because of Kyu that the rest had left. But as much as Kyu was a burden, he was a burden I loved dearly.

I watched the sun dip into the horizon by the evening as the sky burst into golden flaxen hues.

"Kyu..."

"But Kyu!?" He cried, "all Kyu has ever done was to break up the community, introducing pain and anguish, keeping you day and night by Kyu so oft you don't even have time for yourself! Kyu is a pandora's box in the skin of Kyu and nothing but a pandora's box!"

His eyes flared passionately.

I was almost upset:
"That's not it! That's not it! While you taught me pain and anguish, you also taught me how to care, how to commit, how to love... how to..."
The words escaped from my lips faster than I could coherently formulate them in my mind.

"No, you are wrong. Kyu has not taught you how to care, how to commit, nor how to love." His voice wavered, and he hung his head down. "Since Kyu, have you spared a thought for the community? The community that you once cared for, that you once committed yourself to, that you once... loved?"

"That is..."

This time I contained my words.

"All Kyu ever did was to shift your attention to Kyu... Now your obsession with Kyu is simply destructive."

He was remarkably brutal in his reply. But I understood.

"Yes, I was jealous." I confessed. "I was obsessed with you. I disguised it as your doing, but in reality, it was all my fault to begin with. Back then, it was just that while ago, that we dissolved because of I."

And then I realised, when I purposefully tore out my heart and left it uncannily vacant, I was so sure someone would fill it up; I was so certain, that I could even bet the community on it. And at that point in time, I wasn't just sure that it would be someone, I was sure that someone would be Kyu.

In retrospect I simply felt ashamed. Oh how naive I was, and rash, and I was such a bastard.

"Kyu..." I was completely sincere, "please forgive me."

"Kyu... can't do that..." He was as sincere as I was.

In the dim sky I could not see his face clearly, and even his silhouette was faintly ephemeral. He shimmered slightly, meekly receding.

"Kyu!"

"Kyu is eternally grateful, but Kyu cannot afford to let you go on like this. It was you who taught Kyu how to go on with life even when all hope falls bleak and dreary. It was because of that that Kyu survived. Now it is you who is falling into that trap. You are leading a life of decadence that blinds you in euphoria. Please understand, and do not let Kyu down, for Kyu would be very sad."

Why? Why must it be like this, where I kept forcing myself to make decisions neither apt nor useful? Forcing, so painfully, so willingly yet helplessly, and oh so irresponsibly dazed.

I pondered, and finally...

"Alright," I felt vaguely resentful, but the words passed my mouth nonetheless. "I give you your freedom. There is no way I can forgive myself if I don't."

I was so sure, just so sure that he wouldn't do it...

that...

that I was willing to bet his life on it. His life that which I held so dear, so close, and yet I staked him without a second thought.

For who? I ask;

I was wrong...

No, I couldn't have been any more right...

While I made that first mistake I simply did not know if I made a second.

"Dearest master," He whispered,
"Kyu thanks you sincerely, from the bottom of Kyu's heart."

"What...?"

I was confused. Though I felt faintly warm as his body pressed against mine I could feel him dispersing gently, blissfully, peacefully, yet all the while his delicate body clung on to my embrace, hopelessly frail.

"Kyu... will go, now; farewell."

"What... go...?"

Yet as much as I had anticipated this- anticipating it ever since, right from the beginning when we accepted him- his words still attacked me with a such a sudden subtle declivity that it overwhelmed me with delirious guilt. A guilt so heavy I could no longer bear it on my shoulders.

I simply wanted to break down, I wanted to cry.

I wanted to cry, I wanted to cry out again and cry 'give us another chance!', to be helplessly enamoured and consumed by that very passion that swore us in; keeping us alive. I wanted to believe I had something to care for, and someone whom I could feed my childish angst to.

And it was after all this that I could only rasp between my words:

"...where?"

I was not angry, just invariantly lost. Where are you going? Where can you go?

What can you do without me?

But then, I knew I was wrong: Kyu could go anywhere without me. I was simply being the bastard that I always was. Right from the beginning. Kyu was right. He had to go before I would stop being such an ass.

But why...

I called them and told them Kyu had contracted a disease and died. They were pretty much concerned- "oh, hey, so how are you doing...? Fine? Oh, poor Kyu, how are you coping?"

And after a few laughs and talks we would hang up the phone. And I would pick it up again and call again, a different number. It feels pretty quaint, you know, knowing so many people, and having their numbers...

It's really pretty quaint.

“You are wrong, for it was not I that produced this, but the locket that did, though I did produce the locket, you see.”

“It looks like paper, and it speaks in a 150 words!” He mused deliriously. “Behold! I have produced what can produce, at whim, thousands of these! Just imagine what we can accomplish!”

“I agree, it is attractive; I do love,” The Other Guy beamed a lofty smile, “chiaroscuro.”

I don't see anything wrong with your traces. I was seriously preparing myself for some abominations when reading the disclaimer When i got some time i'll try tracing a Lucky star character to. They seem easy and simple as you said.

The only bad thing i can mention about the traces are the Shinku and Suigintou one. The colors aren't very vibrant. A bit to dark making it not as lively as it could be.

As for your sketches. Not much i can point out except the things that has been mentioned already. But i do like to add that the coloring is really well done.

Yes, Sephi, I thoroughly agree that that trace was too dark. I need to do something about it already, but it's been a while already so I can't really be bothered to recolour/hue it. See, such decadence in I. >.<

Oh, and... I've actually *spoiled* myself for higurashi watching slices of the ending 2 episodes when some people were playing it in class when I was trying to sleep. But I already told myself I shouldn't be watching anime for the next two months... so, gah...
