The cover for volume for is really nice imo. I am still disappoint that I couldn't get volume 3 and had to rely on reading by chapters. Anyhow I hope that Takao will make his appearance soon.

Looks like dad came home. And finds out pretty much immediately. It involves a bathroom. And then Neene, if I can remember names correctly, runs off "to become an independant woman".

Oh, there's a new Jinki user too it seems. Spontaneous generation?

Just read chapter 34 and it was very interesting:

Spoiler for World Embryo Ch. 34:

* Riku was frantically searching for Neene who ran away from home to become an "Independent Woman".

* Neene went into Rena's (her "mama") home and was very glad to know that her "mama" is an independent woman and wanting to be like her.

* Riku called Rena to know if neene was with her and told her that:

I know it's selfish, I know that being partners is just a formality and and you cant trust me but......And yet, you're the only one I have to talk to....the world to Neene is just you, me and shizuru-chan

* After hearing Riku's words and reminiscing the moment's with neene, she begins to smile and Neene shout's out "Mama's smiling", Riku hear's Neene's voice on his phone and immediately goes to Rena's place.

* When Riku arrive's at Rena's place, he immediately confront's Rena and started quarrel, seeing her "parents" quarreling, she shouts to them:

Papa!, Mama!, Stop having a lover's spat!

Rena and Riku told Neene that

Were not lovers!

* Rena asks Riku if he said to Neene that he didn't want her, Riku told Rena that her father came home and was against keeping Neene in the household, after hearing this, she started to question Riku motivation in taking care if Neene.

* Riku on the other hand, doesn't want to tell Rena that Neene grows by absorbing human memories and instead tells her that he doesn't want to involve his family in this whole mess.

* Rena, worried about Riku takes him to the hallway where the pictures of her memories were kept. Riku, afraid of overstepping her bound again tells Rena that if she doesn't want to tell him, it's fine but she insisted in teliing him a little.

* She told him that she has no memories of her past and no loved ones at her side but there was one person who was like a family to her since he or she took care of her and was always at her side.

* And she tells Riku that what's important is how Neene wants to live her life and how to handle it as a family. Riku was surprised at Rena's words and but she immediately tells him that:

Ahh! Don't misunderstand, I just said it because Neene consider's her as a part of her world, her family

* Then Riku asks Rena what she owes him in the first place, she immediately blushes and stats to remember what happened in the last part of ch. 31, the she answers him "No Reason at all"

* Riku realizes that Neene can still grow even if she doesn't absorbs human memories, she can still grow as a normal human child. Then she looks upon Rena and says to himself that he must learn to understand what Neene wants by doing that, the three of them can deal this situation together, he smiles and said to Rena

Thanks Mama...

Rena immediately blushes and says to him

I don't want to hear that from you!!!

* Shizuru learns that Daichi wasn't against Neene to stay at the Amami household but want's to know if Riku is willing to take care of Neene. Daichi and Shizure went to Rena's home to meet up with Riku, then Riku want's to have a conversation with his father in regard of taking care of neene.

I only have one question..............does Rena like Riku???

Takao appears again. This time he's after an acquaintance of Riku's from two years ago.

Riku attempts to face-off against Takao, but he's still pawned by the Jinki Hunter.

The moment Takao wields his katana on Riku's acquaintance a Jinki manifests on the latter's right arm much to his shocked expression.

Is it just me or heroine look a WHOLE lot like Allen(DGM), even his attitude is a little similar except Allen is kinder. So the manga was pretty good, I was here reading till chapter 30.

You know, in an arranged marriage, it takes time for couples to grow feelings to each other. Mama can't fall in love with Papa this soon. For the sake of keeping the running gag alive, it should take a little time more.

Time for crazy theories:

- Kanshu is "abstract astral" parasitic lifeform that feed on Human memories. Naturally, memories attacked by Kanshu's will restore if there's a reminder that enables his/her memories to regrowth, but since Kanshu's attack will leave the victim severed from all of his connection with the current "dimension", so....
- The "source of infection" is actually Kasama's older brother, i.e the hospital director. He foundabout Kanshu's incidentally, he actually likes Amane, but Amane didn't reciprocate his feelings. This turned him into mad-scientist of sort, and in the end decides to turn the world like he wants to be.
- Nene is born from Amane's mental image and psyche. That Source of Infection wants "Amane" as the Kanshuu's queen, practically his mate (hey, it was done before, you know), but apparently Amane's psyche was still strong enough to seeking help for the one who still believes in her: Riku.
- Jinki is, as you would say, is actually a weakened form of kanshu. Strong enough to give someone abilities to detect and destroy Kanshu, but weak enough not to let anyone get infected.
- Takao's target is actually destroying all Kanshu's, by using the core to detect and attract the Kanshu and destroys them all in one swoops. He also believes that every Jinki's user is a potential Kanshu's source, so he's naturally eliminates them all. Of course he was mad about someone "using the core", since practically the core user was in danger in becoming Kanshu's themselves. This is also the reasons he rarely used Jinki's core in combat.

Rena doesn't seem to like that kind of guy, and the fact the Youhei doesn't know her secret also leads the other way. Youhei seem more like a Senpai to her.

Well, finally caught up with this series. I'm kinda glad for Riku's epiphany since it'll give him a better handle on Neene's future, regardless of what the outcome is.

Also, I came across a pretty badass fanart of Rena. Pantsu warning:

Also, I noticed her colour scheme is similar to Chrno's from Chrono Crusade. I cannot unsee it.

I read all the chapters from 1 - 42 and now what I think is "Wow, the end of chapter 42 is so exciting. I can't wait to see chapter 43."

anyway, judging from what happened in chap 40 and what that sly, foxy chairwoman said in chap 42, it means...

Yui was infected or even possessed a Jinki's ability without realizing? and then she was killed by Takao?

A fate worse than death would be infection - become the thing she hates, and all that jazz. In any case, whatever her backstory might be, I don't think I'll be able to empathize with her in any way.

Couple of thoughts about up until chapter 43

Spoiler:

The older Kazama is the Source of the Infection. I think this was pretty obvious since he made his first appearance, but since his brother re-entered the story, it only strengthens the notion that his brother will be involved in the plot somehow.

Anyone find it a little weird that Riku is raising Neene to be a replacement for Amame? I'm getting Kodomo No Jikan vibes, just kind of disgusting and selfish. The only reason he's raising her is because he knows Neene will grow to be just like Amame in apperance, what's he going to do then? Bone her? Awkward...

I think its also getting clear that Rena is developing feelings for Riku. That scene at the ocean of chapter 39 I think? was enough to hammer it home.

I wonder what exactly happened with Yui. Somehow I don't get the feeling that she's dead like everyone thinks she is. Why would they use a chapter to explain what happened to her if she was dead? I think it's highly likely that she's still alive.

I don't think it's weird. He raises Neene and hope that someday she can make him meet Amane once again.

Yes, Author said it himself in the end of Volume1 that Rena still has a long way to go as a main Heroine. So, more to come.

I think so. However, spending 1-2 chapters may be not for her, but for Takao.
