Indeed they do comrade. What we know as crisps are known as chips eslewhere. We do not use that term as for as long as they have existed here in the U.K they have been known as crisps, most likely through good old Walkers crisps' brand. But because we refer to chips as the large cut potatoe versions, cooked and ideally eaten hot, (and is also known in our traditional meal; Fish & Chips) we gave the name crisps to the thinner cut ones, eaten cold as opposed to hot and put in bags.
Actually, although we in England and the rest of Great Britain call them chips, we still do use the term French Fries too. We just refer to French Fries as all the thinner brand of chips, and we call the original British spud branded ones chips. |

the only french fries i eat are those fried in duck fat.... mouth waters
well i grew up with the oreo, it tastes good for what it is but it doesn't change the fact that pretty much any asian snack food is better, like shirp crackers, egg rolls(wafer kind), pig ears( their cookies that look like braised pig ear). The list goes on. I'm actually amazed at how many people don't like the cookie. I usually ate the cream first but that was never my favorite part, the choclate cookie was mine, mebbe because of the bitter taste that reminded me of dark choclate. |
