It might just be the demo (and characters being too defensive), but the game pace is a bit slow, unless a match is determined in a single round.

I also noticed you can deactivate the meta-field for 2 gauges.

And Ronove's sprite bothers me a bit. I guess I'll get used to it.

Trying to translate the Battle opening screens, although my French is a little rusty.

The 1st Movement
Ouverture

Self explanatory, "ouverture" means opening if you didn't know.

L'ouverture
C'est l'ouverture du part I
THE
BEGINNING
Danse pour mort.
Vouz devriez *can'treadthis* complètement.

The opening
This is the opening of Part I
THE
BEGINNING
Dance for dead (yeah it doesn't make sense)
You must *can'treadthis* completely (I guess it means you must annihilate your enemies)

Lorsque les cris du chat de la mer
BLITZ
Soyez hors service!

When the cries of the cat of the sea (ROFL)
BLITZ (this is german I don't think I need to translate it)
Be out of service! (what?!)

I can only assume this is meant to be read together and supposed to mean something like "When the seagulls aren't crying".

It's meant to say "When the seagulls cry", but in a horrible French.

Possible. The part you couldn't read says "l'assassiner", btw.

Observations:
-The narrator in the menu is... hard to figure out. It does sound like Virgilia, but I really can't bet on it.
-It appears the 2 central coffins are only for the design, whereas there is no real indication for random slot or secret character slot for the other 2.
-Narrator for "The 1st movement, Blitz!" is Lambdadelta
-Shannon's seagulls are... completely random
-They made a very obvious indication when a player can use the metafield: character bars are glowing red.
-Break limit gauge does -not- decrease over time. It decreases only by a small chunk upon switch, thus the gameplay really enforce aggressive and switch playstyle as going on defensive can be punished quite badly.
-If your guard is broken, your change gauge is instantly set to 0.
-Dodge is also included in the gameplay (or Ronove only?)
-AttackTouch can be prevented if the tagging out character is hit (Ronove was hit by the goat before being able to tag out)
-Metafield -can- be countered, but it cost 2 SP bar. This can go on as long as players have enough SP.
-Metafield can be activated as long as your metafield gauge is at least half full, with of cours

Yet another seemly trivial video that reveals a lot about the gameplay. That said, I would have been happier if they didn't make Virgilia spamming gungnir like an idiot yet again.
Another problem: Eva's battle quotes are often way too long, thus overlapping each other should the controller spam something or go on a quick combo.

Eva-Beatrice's ability is Berserk, which just increase the damage dealt. There is no negative effect.

I already have translated the french text here and there. Ouverture doesn't make sense, since you only say that for an actual object or some sort of a shop: like opening a bottle.
Blitz means "Lightning" in german, for those who don't know.

I think there are maybe too many battle speeches, they tend to overlap continuously resulting in an uninterrupted chattering.

here goes my theory: the 2 coffins on the bottom edges are extra characters. The middle bottom one is also a character. The top middle is there to make the rows symmetric

Sorry, I have to nitpick: The meaning of 'ouverture' isn't limited to objects. It can also mean an introduction to a musical composition, or generally the opening/initiation of an event or procedure.

And Blitz can mean 'flash', too =P

I'm only speaking in term of casual French, as much as "gâter" is nearly never used for its "damage" definition, for instance.
For all intent and purpose, "ouverture" doesn't make any sense in this game at all, period.

Ouverture can be said for opera and other things.
By the way, I AM French so if you have question about that...

Oh wow this French is so wrong I am actually laughing.

I see the issue: I actually typed "shop" instead of "show" *huge facepalm*, implying theater and so forth. I did forgot about musical pieces, however.

Ronove seems to be the only one who can dodge according to his moveset (22:Elegant Sway).

With this in mind, I checked the other pages and Eva-Beatrice is the only one who can air dash. Kanon and Siesta 410 has a triple jump (?), and Beato has a hold 8 move in the air (probably for floating?).

Ah, it's very rarely used, but Blitz in the context of Umineko most likely refers to a chess game. Like a quick match.

Hors service would translate as "out of order".
Find it also odd they kept "Part 1" in english, but in french "Partie 1" should have been "de la partie 1" (and not "du").

As far as I can see, it is "parti" not "part1". They probably implied "partie".

Ah guess that makes sense "partie" as in a "game round".

Except for the fact that all the coffins except the central one are numbered.

Well my first post on this forums, nice to meet you all~

About the coffins, maybe there are 2 for the secrect characters, 1 for random, and the other one is for the final boss (The one in the middle).

Well in the official yonkoma there is a lot of stuff with seagulls and Shannon so it might be taken from there. In the end she even flies on them...
