Description:

197
Danzo is appointed as acting Hokage, now that Tsunade is in a coma. Danzo orders for Sasuke to be eliminated, a decision that shocks Naruto and Sakura. Kakashi explains to Naruto that there is very little they can do, since Danzo will restrain Naruto's every movement. Omoi, Karui and Samui arrive in the village, delivering an invitation to the Five Kage Summit to Danzo. Karui and Omoi confront Naruto and Sakura demanding information on Sasuke, but the latter two have emotional difficulties understanding Sasuke is truly a criminal. Madara informs Sasuke and his group Killer Bee had deceived them and was never actually captured. He also tells them of Konoha's recent destruction, Naruto's increased abilities and the Five Kage Summit, which Danzo will attend.

Madara's revelations cause Sasuke to assume a new objective, namely that of assassinating Danzo at the Five Kage Summit. In Konoha, Karui, believing her master Killer Bee to be captured by Sasuke, interrogates Naruto on Sasuke. Naruto finds himself unable to give out information that could lead to Sasuke's death, claiming vengeance to be meaningless. Karui angrily attacks Naruto, but she is stopped by Sai. Naruto tells Kakashi and Yamato he intends to ask the Raikage to change his mind on Sasuke, as he planned to do with Danzo. Both his teachers are initially reluctant to the idea, but as Naruto tells them his deceased father, the Fourth Hokage, professed his belief in him when Naruto encountered him in his psyche, they agree to escort Naruto to the Five Kage Summit.

Yay! The thread is up. I've been one of those fans that read the posts in these episode discussion for the past few weeks just to see if fillers are over yet. So excited to get back to Naruto once again. There are a lot of things left undone such as how Danzo will come into the picture and change the landscape of the ninja world. And where would Naruto and the likes of Tsunade will be in it? I'm also ready to fangirl over Sakura-chan! I still have that gif of the young Sakura-chan that was made by either Sarcasteak or KiNa that would drive her haters wild.

I have been waiting for Danzou to enact his dastardly plan(s) (well, I assume they are dastardly, but they could be cute and fluffy and filled with love) for nigh on 6 months (or whenever the Pain arc ended). I am ready for some sweet sweet one-eyed/one-armed geriatric action...

Can anyone be so kind to tell what has happened after the pain's ARC? I am talking about the canon stuff shoved into the fillers.

I knew Danzou is bad news since the time he skewered that frog. I think it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume he might be even more vicious than Hunter's spoon.

Fans who have watched these filler saga stated that only the first filler episode has some information incorporated from the manga, but nothing significant to the point it needs a watch. After that, it was all anime original.

@james, you could add a "canon resumes" in the title to catch the eye of those who had stopped following the series with the start of the fillers. If the title isn't too long already.

Nothing much happened, some filler episodes had tiny bits of canon added to them. The only important one was Danzou being made hokage in episode 179.

Certainly an incredible start as far as animation quality goes. The first half of 197 looked pretty good, but the second half of 197 and especially 198 looked top notch.

I do not like the all powerful new Naruto getting beaten to a pulp by one ordinary ninja girl. Not one bit!

Danzo's arm looked neat, must find out more

Canon stands for canonical plot, meaning that this is the beginning of the next arc after the fillers. Which would mean that the filler just ended, for now. Damn this should be stickied

And yet again, I find myself wanting to bash my head on the table after listening to Sakura. Has there ever been a point where she was not such a bloody nuisance and irritating to even listen to. All she does is act in denial, cry, and completely ignore the sheer gravity of the situation. Glad to see at least Naruto not act like an idiot and actually think with his head and not only his emotions.

well, that was refreshing after all the fillers...

I guess the waiting made me a bit over-expectant, so for a moment I felt like there should have been more plot they went through with in a double-ep - but then again I can't rly complain, all in all it was nicely paced and rly makes me look forward to the story at last moving on again.

Few things right off the bat:

1) Karui is hot. Really, really hot.

2) Good animation.

3) The beating is much more emotional and interesting than the manga counterpart. Additionally, the filler did allow for the beating to seem more realistic. In the manga, the beating occurred literally 2 chapters after defeating Pain/Nagato. So, there was a large disconnect between Godlike Naruto and beaten-to-a-pulp Naruto. But, due to the filler and all the images of stupid-Naruto, the beating was much easier to swallow, and the emotions easier to interpret and accept.

thanks, and ye i googled what canon is after i post that question of mine, and found out that canon means official part of the story or in other words non fillers

That felt good, finally some plot! Made Sai more likeable too, he even questioned Danzou (albeit in the more literal sense of "questioned" :P)

Karui is hot. Really, really hot.

I think Samui's hotter, despite her name VA helps too, Karui sounds kinda bitchy...

Good animation.

Seconded, it was pretty good after quite a few average and bad episodes.
Next ep seems to introduce more new characters, can't wait.

Bah. We already have 2 or 3 hot blondes in the series, but how many sexy dark-skinned beauties are there? .

Her VA does make her sound pretty bitchy though...
