A little idea that had been bouncing around my head recently while watching some YouTube videos. The Mass Effect games are some of my favourites, and the thought of parody occured to me, but it was not easy bridging the game with the Nanoha series as the stories are very, very different.
As usual, the standard parody disclaimer. The Following Is A Parody. It Will Not Always Follow The Canon. ~~~~ ~~~~ Admiral Leti: "Well, what about Hayate? Earth-born... but no record of her family." Admiral Lindy: "Doesn't have one. She was raised as an orphan. Learned to look out for herself." Admiral Chrono: "She saw her friends die in Japan. She could have some serious emotional scars." Admiral Lindy: "Every soldier has scars. Hayate's a survivor." Admiral Leti: "Is that the kind of person we want protecting the dimensions?" Admiral Lindy: "That's the only kind of person who can protect the dimensions." Admiral Leti: "I'll make the call." ~~~~ ~~~~ In the year -2148 TSAB, explorers on Mid-Childa discovered the remains of an ancient dimension-faring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling people to travel to the furthest dimensions. The basis for this incredible technology was a magical force that controlled the very fabric of space and time. They became the greatest mages in Mid-Childan history. How about turning to other BioWare games for inspiration?
---- Two Bureau mages carrying an unconscious Yuuno through the darkened corridors, throwing him roughly onto an interrogation chair. A slender woman in uniform steps out of the darkness. Y: I've had gentler invitations. Woman: I am Cassandra Pentaghast, Enforcer of the Bureau. Cassandra nods to the mages, who leave them alone. Y: And just what are you enforcing? C: I am seeking for the Ace. Y: Which one? C: *hits him* You know EXACTLY why I am here! *summons an energy blade in his face* Time to start talking, ferret. They tell me you are good at it. Y: What do you want to know? C: Everything. Start at the beginning. Fade to black, then flashback to Nanoha and Fate easily fighting off a horde of Gadget Drones, including an oversized Type III. Just as they are being surrounded, a huge battleship swoops in from above and lays waste... Interrupted by C: Bullshit! That's NOT what really happened. Y: Does that not match the story you've heard, Enforcer? C: I am not interested in legends. I came to hear the truth. Y: But what makes you think I know the truth? C: Don't lie to me! You knew her even before she became the Ace! Y: Even if I did, I don't know where she is now. I told you that. C: Do you have any idea what's at stake here? Y: Let me guess. Your precious Bureau's fallen to pieces and put all dimensions on the brink of war. And you need the one person who could help you put it back together. *grins* C: The Ace was at the heart of it when it's all began. If you can't point me to her, tell me everything you know. Cypha's villain characterization would have worked much better with a Song...
