Do you ever pay attention at the marketing strategies they use for anime I've followed tons of shows right from their first announcement, sequels and movies as well as alternative series that came after from magazine announcement to teaser to trailer to series and afterward. In all those years it becomes rather obvious when a studio is stopping one story to maintain its popularity and is continuing with an alternative one. There have been series from sunrise that have made that mistake, to make sequel after sequel and see their sales drop rapidly they surely do not want that happening again. Second pointer is that why announce a new manga in such a big announcing way when we all know that the manga series in geass have never been all that popular, the anime was always the drive not the manga. Why would they suddenly announce the new manga with a big page cover up when it hadn't been done that way before for manga sequels. Why place all this attention on new plot, the new project if there would just be an R3 animated? R3 would clearly whipe the new manga off the table, rendering the costs to make such advertising useless and the manga nothing but scrap paper, if it were R3 being animated then Sunrise would be teasing us far worse than this, instead they show us that a new manga project has been launched, they show us pictures, tell us in the report that the new project involves new video work, music, goods etc. the story script for the manga is written by an anime director.. no clearly there is no sign at all that this new manga will not be animated.. and pigs can fly |

Given all the information we have right now, the only safe assumption is that Sunrise wants to make sure their manga sells well or rather gets more attention. That's it, but if you want to go ahead and say that the new animation will be based on the manga then that's fine too, just don't try to pass it as fact when it isn't, yet anyway (assuming it even comes to pass). Your argument basically boils down to "I have watched anime for a long time so my opinion is fact"

As far as anime fans go I'm older than Methuselah I've been watching anime since Space Battle Ship Yamato was the newest thing (that's circa 1973 ) Thus I'd say my opinion holds more weight by your standards KarumA and I'm telling you that in my opinion we don't know diddley about what the new project will be outside of the first project being a manga written by Mr. Taniguichi. Therefore, allow me to give you some friendly advice. Don't complain about the corncob up somebody else's derriere before you remove the tree-trunk that's up your own. In other words, everybody's opinion here is equally valid and/or worthless depending on your viewpoint. We don't know what Sunrise will give us and there is no way to know, so just be patient like the rest of us. |

Sarcasm!
Ok let me see if I got this straight now. According to TrueElement we are no longer allowed to refer to the new geass as "R3", nor are we supposed to say Lulu might be alive(although I don't really care as he wasn't my favorite anyway) and no more wild ideas,theories,and/or speculations as to what may happen or what we'd like to see happen right? Just the facts right?=BORING!!
Perhaps we need a new thread for us dreamers huh? Don't ya just love sarcasm?! |

Constant demands for an R3 speculation thread and whining about Lelouch or contemplating his possible survival or resurrection got extremely old in the first couple of weeks after R2's end. This is a thread to discuss what we know about the new project: and that information, so far, does not include a third, continued season (and titling it R3 doesn't make a damn bit of sense), and that project involves a time where it was long before Lelouch was even born, let alone killed. There's no point in cluttering up this thread with continued discussion about R3/Lelouch. Sarcasm or not, its become necessary at this point.

Whatever ya say Bubba. In that case since the new MANGA takes place during Edo period a time when Japan opened it's borders to the world. It also pararells the time period when the U.S. sent Commodore Perry to Japan about 1853. Very interesting, new story, new characters, new timeline, and none of the characters we've come to know and love except for CC.OH and a certain longhaired individual who bears a strong resemblance to a DEAD guy. Good luck selling this one!

I've just read about the new manga project.
Right, without lulu and the others cg is not cg.. Anyway, machanical left arm in the edo era? Maybe Renya came from the future and so did Lelouch and he is that mysterious man Huh it's like the Terminator, Renya wants to destroy C.C. and Lelouch wants to save her and the future Ok I stop here... Is it the only project they are planning to release in 2010? /I'm with the "lulu is alive" group, +1 :P/ |

This, my dear comrades, is why any attempt at establishing incarnations of the cartdriver club should be strictly forbidden anywhere without a loud disclaimer that their musings are pure fantasy. Their existence, benign or not, continues to spawn legions of unknowing trolls for us to have the displeasure of dealing with over and over again.

better corrected "a certain longhaired individual who bears a strong resemblance to guy WHO HASN'T BEEN BORN YET." I completely agree with Dragon.. Lelouch lives and R3 fans kick lower than Sasuke fans imo as for the mechanical arm, I recon it has to do with this person's geass Quote:
.. saying that is like saying gundam isn't gundam without the same cast being used over and over again but ofc you cannot compare gundam to geass but using the same characters would eventually become boring and would make the characters extremely flat in character development That or people will hate Kallen or anyone for being OOC when they do manage an AU |
