Kare Kano
Nodame Cantabile Whisper of the Heart Haibane Renmei xxxHOLiC - I suppose this one in particular emphasizes that people with bad personal or social habits... will be afflicted by supernatural ills, lol |

Summer Wars The old-fashioned social network saves the country(and the world). Also, never turn your back on family. Hanafuda is Serious Business.
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Don't be a bystander, take an active part in things. Also, hanging out with aliens, time travellers and espers is cool. K-ON Tea and cake solves almost anything. |

Air teaches how life can be very unfair and how much family love is needed
Angel Beats, same things though it also tells you to never give up and follow your dream till the end. Aoi Bungaku series are set of small stories with bad endings but all of them have some moral behind. Bakuman is about two highschool students who are determined to achive their dream and becoma a manga artist. GTO is all about life lessons though Onizuka tends to solve them in weird but effective way Kanon (2006) is mostly about never giving up despite how bad things might seem Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin series are about constant struggles, never giving up and many other themes.

My first recommendation would be Miyazaki's Mononoke Hime; no easy answers about the clash between nature and progress in this show.
For a more preachy environmentalist show, you could try Earth Girl Arjuna. Kemono no Sou-ja Erin has a variety of lessons about solid values like friendship, loyalty and the like. Dennou Coil teaches us about death and acceptance.

However, the whole Haruhi's series do not quite fit your requirements, even tho it might give you some new points of view. The movie instead kinda teaches something, but once again, you'd have to watch 28 episodes (otherwise you wouldn't quite get the relations between each character) that do not quite fit your requirements. If you have the patience and the time, then you should definitely work your way out to the movie, imo, watching all the episodes and then the movie. The movie is like the orgasm coming after 10 hours of fucking: you won't be disappointed. |

^Nah, one season and 1st episode of season 2 should be more than enough. At least it fully worked for me.
1st season is needed to get to know the characters and first episode of season 2 is needed because send hald of the movie evolves around it a lot. Never watched the rest of season two and don't think I have missed anything in the movie.

Don't really know how 8 episodes on a loop will add anything to a movie story. Considering thaht so many Haruhi fans hate those episodes, I as Haruhi hater don't really see myself liking those either =/
I don't really know what those 8 episodes cover but for me those 14 episodes were enough to understand the movie and its main trigger.
