Since in Detective Conan and Kindaichi Files and other detective series I read/watched, the dying message naming someone is usually always NOT the killer.

She wrote the name from left to right. I fail to see the issue. She didn't write it upside-down, she actually wrote it right-side up. The world just happened to be upside-down (as hilariously as this sounds, I'm actually being literal here).

If you take a piece of paper and replicate the circumstances (paper on the wall, your back to the wall, etc.), you'll get this. It's the same as writing something upside-down and reverse on a piece of paper directly in front of you. If you turn the paper around to face you, the message is the same. All you've done is write something right-side up on a piece of paper that happens to be facing away from you.

It... really shouldn't be such a difficult thing to realize.

I think there's more to Monobear than it seems. He looked as though his white half was crying after Leon was killed, so maybe he's two souls in one body - one of a person that's kind and compassionate, the other personality cruel and sadistic (the latter personality of course being the dominant one). Hmm.

Is Kirigiri the name of the girl whose... deal wasn't made clear in episode 1? There are so damn many names to track, I'm having trouble keeping it all straight.

While it would be hysterical if she turned out to be a genius high school gumshoe, that's probably not the type that Monokuma would want to include in such a game. Could she be the "winner" of a previous game? A returning contestant, so to speak, who didn't kill anyone, so she's not allowed to leave yet? I don't really remember how she reacted in episode 1 to anything, so depending on that it might not be very likely, but it might explain why all the secrecy about her. Then again, how would another game come down to just one person? Eventually you start to run low on suspects.

Meanwhile, the damn bear acting all "I don't see why you might think that's important" about the trial room having 16 stands was pretty funny. I know we probably won't find out why for a while, but it still made me laugh.

Yeah, Kirigiri is the only characters whose SHSL talent or ability isn't quite know yet. We know the other 14, but hers are a mystery probably just to give her character and the meaning of her being in this death game a dynamic effect. ie. The silent beauty who has something to hide and what her motives are, so to speak.

OK couple things in epi 4 bothered me and instead of using the thread I decided to post it here since it's all based on speculation

Spoiler for Taken from Klash's clues post in epi 4 thread:

-In the men changing room, Makoto notices that there is a weird stain on the carpet.

Fujisaki is confirmed dead in the female locker room. Sakura makes the statement about the spilled protein drink. Female pin-up in female locker room, male pic in male locker room.

Couple things about those clues bother me. Someone had to switch those pictures. Psychobear confirmed that boys couldnt enter the girls room and vice versa. Also key cards of other students can't be used to access the other rooms.

Also either Sakura lied about being in the female locker room or the carpet was also switched with the posters.

So, somehow the killer switched the posters. How?

Note: What I'm about to share with you is based off what I've observed during the 4 episode. I haven't read or seen any game spoilers or threads, so any moderators reading this don't penalize me for this. Anyway...

Alright, think back to what Sakura said during the investigation.

Sakura Oogami: I spilled some protein coffee. The stain is no longer there.

The room she worked out in was in fact the girls locker room. Because remember, Sakura is a girl, so therefore, had no way of accessing the boys locker room. So Sakura couldn't have lied about the coffee stain.

About the posters, it's most likely that the contents of the two rooms (men and woman's locker room) were switched. Think about it: the weird stain in the boy locker room is not strong proof, but enough to make it plausible that the scene of the crime were remodeled, along with the posters.

As for how the killer could enter either the boys and girls locker room. Here's what I think. The answer lies in the ElectroID/Student Handbooks etc. Monokuma did say that you can't lend out your ID's to others, but what if there's a loophole in that rule? Remember Kyoko examining the front gate and finding both Sayaka and Junko's ElectroID's.

Spoiler for ElectroID Theory:

If you can't lend or ask for someone's ElectroID, how about taking one...from someone who isn't alive? It's just a theory, but can dead people count as students too...who knows? Since it's Monobear, you may never know.

Spoiler for Obvious trap is Obvious Response:

It's most likely that Chihiro was killed in the boys locker room. I don't know, but the fact that there's the coffee stain in the boys room, and the awkward disposition of the posters sort of supports this. Also, remember that Chihiro's ElectroID was missing, so the killer could have used it to either get access into either the boy or girls locker room depending on what the person was.

Celes also stated that Chihiro seemed to be heading somewhere and judging by the time of death he ignored curfew and died during that time. Hence the death in the locker rooms (either male or female). Also go back to the ElectroID theory or rewatch the episode regarding them to clarify anything.

That's all I can think of. Sorry if I couldn't be of help or answer your questions or concerns coherently, but I'm sure that whoever played this game can give you proper hints without so much as spoiling you. This is my own thoughts and observations. So what do you think?

Second murder and time for speculation.

I really hope I'm wrong here because otherwise the case is way too obvious.

Spoiler for speculation, episode 4:

First off, things that we know:
We know that Chihiro Fujisaki is male. That's confirmed by the presence of tools in his room.
The bag with the jersey he was carrying means that he wanted to secretly train at night and avoid being found out as male by the others (and he couldn't enter the girls' locker room).

The murder occurred in the male locker room, with the body and evidence being swapped. These evidences are both room items which got swapped: the idol poster and the carpet (the stain made by Sakura in the girl's locker room is no longer there, and the posters are in each other's room).

My speculation:
The murder was committed by Byakuya Togami. He then used the dead people's cards to access the girls locker room and move the body and evidence.
The crime scene was turned into a copycat of a notorious serial killer (minus the murder weapon). I guess that Touko Fukawa's past secret is that she was (or thinks she was) Genocider Syo. Togami would have deduced that from having access to the files; then he set up a crime that looks like Touko, aka "Genocide Syo", did it.

All that's left to do is convince Touko that she did it, which shouldn't be too hard considering her current unstable mentality. She'll probably come out and state that she did it so she can save Togami (who she is infatuated with and thinks is innocent) during the trial. This is supported by all the evidence that Togami made sure to show Naegi.
Considering that Touko keeps fainting at the sight of blood it's doubtful she actually did it herself or that she swapped the evidence.

When ??? checked on the dead people's handbooks, one was blank. Does it mean Leon's handbook was involved?

That is what I am confused about. Leon's handbook looks at least tampered with, but for what reason is the question. I'm convinced enough that a male killed our victim and used one of the dead girl's handbooks for the movement to two rooms, but it could just as well be a girl in that she used Leon's tempered but usable handbook to go in and kill our victim. Maybe Chihiro tampered with it beforehand with his hacking skills for some reason, but that reason remains unclear. Then again, it can also be just a red herring.

Why not? If the villain wins the fun will end, and everything seems to suggest that Monokuma really wishes for people to kill each other so to have exciting trials later.

Why wouldn't he want for the cases to be solved without fail?

If I was him I'd take several failproof measures to ensure the game would keep going until only two people remains.

One would be to include in the group one or more persons that are certified to be able to catch the criminal.

The second thing I'd do would be to include a mole inside the group, in desperate situations the mole could point out to a clue that everyone overlooked thus preventing them from accusing the wrong person.

Third, I'd actually tamper with the hints. For example we all assume that that piece of Leon's shirt simply feel off casually. But who can say for sure that it wasn't Monokuma that ensured it would be left?
To be honest the first case was so awfully full of clues that it would be actually an incredible coincidence if there wasn't someone who purposely left clues all over. The name of the culprit was even literally spelled for everyone to see it. And again there is no one who can confirm without a doubt that it was Maizono who wrote that.
Anyway my real point here is that whether Monokuma cheated or not he sure has a lot of ways to cheat and nobody seems to be even considering the possibility.


But that's the irony of the whole situation I guess, they sure are awfully naive for trusting a psychotic teddy bear. I mean even those who don't want to kill still don't question his claim that you can be free if you win.
We already know that he omitted vital information before, who knows what else he omitted to say.
For example if you win you can leave that place. But he never specified how one would leave it, what if it's "as a corpse"? You can really take anything for granted with that plushie.
