I finally watched the Movie, and I liked it. It is true that the CGI is bad but I understand why they did it. I have been reading people's opinion and they say "oh how lazy this guys are" or stuff like that, but I think a lot of them really don't know how hard it is.

For a movie like this you need A LOT OF MONEY. Ghibli is the only studio capable to handle this kind of project right now, nobody else in Japan can do it IMO. I mean stuff like Metropolis 2001, Tree Of Palme, Akira, Steamboy or Ghost In The Shell will never come back.

Mardock Scramble

Anyway to be on topic i watched the first movie but i found it disappointing. :/ i would have preferred if they went on from where it stopped. Even though quality is a bit lacking its just a fancier version. of what we already know.

i actually liked the look of the 1st movie. however the action or animated parts felt abit uneasy and disorientating, particularly the fight with guts and the fat axe knight

I wonder if they'll include the Wyald mini-arc. Didn't seem like there was any hint of it in that trailer. Which is funny because that plus a fuller version of Guts' backstory is the main material this film trilogy could have over the original anime's rendition of Golden Age, but they have also already gone and rushed Guts' backstory even more than the first anime. It's as if they're trying to make these movies as obsolete as possible. The original anime is still king by far.

Personally, I would love to see this. Not only because the fights are great, but also because Wyald is a nice example of Miura's more... exotic demonic imagery. There are a couple of risqué scenes in the arc, but the whole point of making movies instead of PG-13 TV series is that you can adapt more faithfully.

And I do agree that it's stuff like this they should include.

Finally seen the movie ( i watch and like the dub of berserk) and i liked it.
Pros:
+ Got a good feel for the characters even in 112 min.
+ Very good voice acting.
+ Animation looks damn good.
+ Most of the originals VA's are back.
Cons:
- CGI is bad, very very bad.
- Zodd fight was way too rushed
- Doug (who is a good actor) doesn't fit Corkus

Really want to know when the second dubberd movie is out and by the trailer at the end it looks a lot better than the first one.

I just saw the first two films.

Let it be known that I know OF Berserk, but nothing in detail. Never saw the TV show nor the manga. I have to say, for a truncated version of whats supposedly 10 bibles worth of story, this holds up pretty damn good in movie form for the uninitiated.

Guts backstory and growth into the Band of the Hawk felt lacking but other than that, the three main characters were nicely realized and perfectly interesting as they stood in the movie.

CGI was take it or leave it, doesn't bother me too much but wished it was all 2D.

Saw trailer for the third movie, HOLY SHIT, that looks real! Can't wait!

I've only seen the first movie, so I have to ask: do the subsequent movies expand the story past where the tv series ended? Because the first movie just re-hashed old ground, and seemed kind of pointless to me.

It feels like years since they've been updated, btw.
Also, cake.

^ The original point was to faithfully adapt the original story in which the anime didnt. That alone defines the purpose. Id rather watch better crafted remakes if its better in overall quality. The movies areant meant for content outside the normal story. From rumors Ive heard the rest of the story after the golden age is going to be animated. But perhaps a little early to hope, official or not.

Is fate zero not considered CG? Not only fate, Ive seen a huge amount of CG/3D implemention that has been done well in MANY anime. Examples in HSOFD, KORE WA ZOMBIE DESU KA, GYO OVA, and ect.
CG aside, even more anime that has animation even more fluent that Studio Ghilbi has been made for years all the time. I cant even begin to count how many.
