Hmm. Mandatory complaint each week: I DARE YOU TO CUT MORE STUFF OUT SUNRISE, I DARE YOU!!! (please don't take the dare)
With that said ... Spoiler for 7:
I anticipate a lot of talking next episode, would be interesting to see how that works out since that could be the weakest or strongest plot-exposition episode. Added bonus: we don't have to climb walls to see that next episode preview. Also for the people who missed it back in episode 2 (a lot of people didn't, but I did). Here's a clearer shot of the scar on the left shoulder, though it happened pretty fast again (but you can see it twice in the episode). Spoiler for shoulder:
EDIT: Oh yeah, nice .gifs on #kyoukaisen Zeroblade, wwww. Last edited by Kunagisa; 2011-11-12 at 17:52. |

The complexity that goes into the discussion in the beginning regarding trade and the liquidation of the money/loan into fuel (tentative translation) and such is very engaging. Those who were gunning for more interesting discussion like last episode regarding resources would really enjoy the beginning part (which makes it very susceptible to mistranslations unfortunately, and I'm already worried about TAN subs skirting around the official terms once again). If anything, this episode showcases Kawakami's talent for scenario-drafting very well. I would've gave this episode a solid 10 just base on dialogues alone if I didn't already know these stuff (and honestly was expecting more than I should have). I don't think anyone who dislikes this series is still watching at this point ... which is fine because everyone will clearly know they're are just bashing a series just for the sake of bashing a series. |

There is a lot of rage to be had currently over Seishi Minakami, who apparently is responsible for Index's script (at least according to the Japanese wiki; ANN only shown one episode though, and otherwise mostly involved with Railgun) and this episode in particular for all the scenes being cut. I never followed Index so I don't know how badly Index had its scenes cut but maybe people who watched Index can kinda guess the situation here with that information?
Good news is that Urahata is scripting the next episode (a pretty important one); the uncertain news is that Yoriko Tomita is in charge of episode 9 and 10 (both are very important episodes to me) and she is a newbie supposedly, so lots of skepticism there.

That was for Season 2 In season 1 on the other hand, there were two arcs in particular that undergo major surgery and went so far as to completely remove characters that played a role in the story to shorten them. But you don't hear as many complains from the English side because hardly anybody reads the Light Novel at that time.

Force of Worship is just a unit of Fluid depletion. Why it's called 拝気, I'll never know. All I can theorize is that all usages of Ability that aren't conducted/channeled using some sort of medium need to be specially fueled by internally or externally fueled Force of Worship. Perhaps Force of Worship is just Fluid in a tangible form, due to its nature as a substance which allows contradiction, whereas Fluid can only be used without first accumulating Force of Worship only if one has a conductive object. Force of Worship can also be substituted by offerings to a conteacted God; whether it be money, as in Shirojiro's Ability Reinforcement:Trade Segmentation, or Asama's whatever.
Actually I have no idea; all this is conjecture based upon the prologue, which is well...a prologue.

Spoiler for It's all about money:

I remember reading in the novel that the user needs a few hours of meditation (瞑想) to internally fuel a single Haiki to a talismans or crystals (which they can use as a consumable without the need to make offerings.) |

In the context of what Muneshige explained about the unique offering system that Far East (now only Musashi) possessed in this episode, 拝気 as a terminology makes sense. Besides, it just sounds awesome .
As for the economics, I think it's useful to keep in mind Christian churches used to ban interest from loans while watching the episode. |

Isn't the substitute-offering just a system whereby the user offers something which the contracted God rejoices in, in exchange for one Force of Worship?
I haven't watched the episode, but when Asama used Loan of Divine Melody (神音借り) in the prologue, I think that's what it said. It'd be nice if someone could come up with an English translation for 拝気 that's just as aesthetic but shorter than FoW.

Basically yes, but offering must be related to your god of worship; the implication here (along with Shirojiro mentioned about "bigger the risk, bigger the return gains") is that you can perform any ability under that god as long as you can pay the price ...
As for translation, I believe you can just translate that as Bless since that's the official(?) reading. |
