NoitaminA has so many choices for avant garde manga if that's the direction they really want to go... I'm glad they exist and that they aren't completely surrendering and giving themselves over to LN adaptations like everyone else (just 50% surrendering) but this isn't one I'm all that wild about.

A few years ago, I would have said the same thing about a card game that involved matching cards to lines of ancient Japanese poetry. Now that I know better, I'm more open to giving shows about subjects like Ping Pong a try. Count me in for at least a look-see.

Wow, 2014 is really going to rock, from Nagahama to Yuasa (now if we get a god-tier director for Parasyte, I'll be content).
The great Taiyo Matsumoto has written other better manga for me, but I'll take what I can get. Can't wait! Last edited by Fevvers; 2014-01-18 at 00:45. Reason: wrong author ;p |

I'm talking about the general art style of the show is somewhat similar to his other works, like the ones he made with Studio 4C (Noiseman Sound Insect, Mind Game), though it looks closer to Tatami Galaxy.

For some reason I find myself interested to give this series a try. Sports genre series are generally a tough sell for me, but I still like the give them a try when I can.
Maybe a the 11-12 eps thing will help my appreciation of it? Anyway, will give it a shot.
