This was something that always struck me as being incredibly stupid when I was in college. It seemed like there were several professors who cared far more about the silly technical aspects of a paper like this than the actual content of said paper. Though some of them didn't in actuality, as I basically chose to ignore those formalities and just used the basic number citation whose name I can't remember for everything, and my grade didn't suffer for it. I definitely don't recommend you follow my example though.

At least you look punk! My whole life was peppered with people telling my parents that I look like a mentally handicapped child. Never realised I was born with mild dyslexia until I am 20.

Up till now there are people who tell me that I look retarded. Though it is fun to behave like one then suddenly surprising them with all sorts of facts.
