Soul got the black blood from being slashed by Ragnarok. Maka got the black blood from Soul by resonating with him. I guess we can assume that black blood is more of a spiritual infection than a physical one.

Maka and Soul gave in to the Blood durring the Chrona fight. Where as Soul was fighting it durring the Free fight.

I apologize beforehand if this has been asked before(And I am most certain it has), but I don't have the time to read the entire thread or even watch more than one episode at the moment.

My question is what happens to the souls after they are eaten by said Soul Eater or weapon guy? I mean, the actual person the soul represents(human or inhuman)? They just disappear into nothingness? At first I thought they would sort of be 'trapped', but after the very first monster was killed, the woman from the first episode was never shown again.

Edit* Why do they kill the Witches? Blair didn't really seem evil to me. I know she wasn't a witch, but they just went and attacked her out of no where.

This question is kinda of difficult to anwser because the anime had changed some of concepts from the manga a bit, but the reason the woman's soul didn't appear again is likely due to becoming nothingness or, in otherwords pure energy to the Kishin egg. Basically once she was eaten it was too late for her. Weapons like Ragnarok on the otherhand trapped souls within them.

This has probably been taken out of the anime but:

Shinigami-sama actually removes all of Ragnarok's souls which explains his appearance later.

Witches (aside from a few exceptions) are generally bad and don't like humans. They tend to reek havoc on them due to having power that they don't. Another reason Shibusen go after them is because it's the only way to make a Deathscythe.

Blair was mistaken for a Witch due to her ability to use magic and her flux human appearance. Maka also couldn't see souls at that point which compounded the problem.

Also sucks for witches. I wonder how many who weren't bad have been killed.

Weapons are humans and they are born (for the most part.)

They look the same but it's realy not clear if they are ment to be the same person or not. Grimoire acts much more sinister in the game then Eibon has yet .
