Recent computer lag spikes
Since about last week or so, I found that when I'm trying to run specific things (like playing osu or watching videos on tudou, but if I leave the computer on long enough it'll eventually spread to near every other application), the computer will eventually suddenly goes in a lag spike, slows down to a crawl, and recovers only a few minutes later. Nothing takes up an unusual amount of CPU usage in my task manager either, and as soon as I close down whatever application's causing the lag spike, it'll just start displaying something else (like firefox or even explorer.exe) as gobbling up the CPU usage instead. I tried system restoring to a week ago, uninstalling applications I installed last week, and checked my hard drive for viruses, and I got nothing.
Does anyone know what's going on here? |

I was using a laptop quite heavily until recently. Heat was a huge problem sometimes. Here's what magic tricks I used to cool it down, in order from the obvious and easy things to desperate need:
1: Cleaning the filter/grill that the air is exhausted through. It gets blocked with dust easily. 2: Using a small book (Even better would be actual design goods like cooling pads) to elevate the laptop and improve airflow under it. 3: Undervolting 4: Removing whatever heat conducting material is between the CPU/GPU and the heatsink, and replacing it with some quality thermal paste.
