I don't think the sister arc is the long though. 4 OVAs should cover it. We can see the continuation in Index S1 anyway.

Volume 8 - 3 episodes
Volume 9 & 10 (since 9 continues into 10) - 6 episodes
Volume 11 - 4 episodes
Volume 12 & 13 (since 12 continues into 13) - 7 episodes
Actually, we don't know it's going to be vol 7-13, but it's our BEST guess.

Anyway, you're probably right about the number of episodes for each volumes, but even so I feel there will be alot of cuts and changes.

^ Someone posted a link confirming though didn't they?

And I don't think they'll cut too much, they didn't in the first season. In fact, a lot of people were complaning they followed the light novels too closely, when usually it's the other way around lol.

There is an interview to Index's staff from Animedia magazine which says the staff is going to adapt the novels the more close possible to the original media.

With all the catching up they need to do, we'll have to see whether how close are they going to make the anime adapt the novels.

But this is surely interesting to hear of.

That's very good to hear. I'm glad J.C. Staff isn't taking the same route they did with ZnT with Index. Having Nishikiori as the director was a good choice.

I don't think they're concerned with catching up since they probably have plans to make more seasons.

Angel Fall was the 4th arc and there were few more arcs in S1. The first series covered 6 novels (with three novels getting a big... haircut).

5 didn't get a haircut, it got shaved. But yeah, it's as Nayrael said.

In s2 though, I'm wondering if they'll be cutting some fanservice parts (Looking at you, Oriana...)

The problem is, that part coincides with her first contact with Ridovia (Lidvia) inside AC. I hope it doesn't get cut.

I just deleted a whole bunch of posts from this thread because apparently people have forgotten already that you cannot discuss the light novels in this thread. Which means that you can't talk about how the anime should get up to <x> future point in the light novels and give away the plot-related reasons why this is the case. No talking about what happens in the light novels in this thread; I don't care how "vague" you think you're being. If you want to talk about the Light Novels in relation to the anime, please do so in a more appropriate thread.

I'm really glad Index got a second season. I have absolutely no idea what it's going to be about but since I enjoyed the first one I guess I'll ejoy this one even more (since my guess is things will get even more complicated considering how S1 ended).
I wonder will it start on the same date as Index S1. After all it also aired in October

The re-airing of S1 takes place from July 17-October 2 so it probably will. And the fall anime season starts in October anyway. :/
