in the original... Haruhi never turns down anyone who confessed to her, but would dump then later on. And because of this, NO ONE dared to go out with her anymore... because of this type of "anti-social" behavior (for the lack of a better term) is what made kyon talk to her (not forgetting haruhi always ends up behind him) and thus giving her idea about the brigade... however, if we say that Haruki loves the chase and only kyonko is the one ignoring him... then WHY would kyonko join the SOS-dan or even give haruki the idea of it in the first place? and another thing... what is the source of "the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruki"? |

Oh yes! A FABULOUS all-man Mitsuru! With awesome guitar riff a la Cromartie Freddie as theme song instead of the dramatic violin theme heard when Mikuru was about to be cosraped.

Jesus, you guys are serious.
Anyway, first thing off my head before I forget it: Instead of bunny girl costumes, Haruki and Mikuru would be dressed up as Hard Gay. Since I was asked to throw in suggestions, here's some: Suzumiya Haruki ("Haruki" in kanji instead of hiragana for the masculine feel): Hot-blooded youth, eccentric genius (I can stand eccentric people, but not idiots) Kyonko: Her real name is unknown. Long ago, an uncle just called her "Kyonko-chan" and the nickname stuck to the point that everyone, including her little brother began to call her that, much to her annoyance. Asahina Mikuru ("Mikuru" in kanji): Timid shy anorexic boy, trap. Fits into any costume, male or female. Nagato Yuuki (different kanji for "Yuuki"): At first glance looks like a timid bookish boy, but is more than meets the eye. If he wasn't so emotionlessly quiet, one would think he would blush even more than Mikuru. Discards glasses after saving Kyonko. Koizumi Itsuki ("Itsuki" in hiragana for feminine feel): Bright person, can be talkative, brains of the SOS Brigade. Neither admits nor denies yuri feelings for Kyonko. Tsuruya-san: Gorgeous rich kid with a generous sense of humour. Asakura Ryou: The idol class rep all the girls adore. Your typical shoujo manga guy idol. Kyonko's brother: Your typical cute shota little brother. Kimidori Emiri: I have no objection to the available fanart Kunkida: Retains his male counterpart's "femininity", though of course now a girl, thinks like one of those generic girl sidekicks in shoujo mangas Taniguchi: The girl sidekick that constantly likes to show off in order to impress guys. Should design her less like her male counterpart and be more moe, though not surpassing Kyonko or Itsuki. Computer Club: No objection to fanart Asahina Mikuru (big): Matured and "manly" in a shoujo manga way, not the muscular tough guy. Still retains his "cuteness". I'll let the yaoi fangirls do this. Arakawa (in governess costume): I'm thinking of Miss Maria from Mai Otome Mori Sonou (elegant butler): Hayate the Combat Butler? I might as well throw in the latest chapters Sasaki: Less genki than Haruki, though just as eccentric as his female counterpart Fujiwara: Foul-mouthed b!tch. Tachibana Kyou: Just stick in elements of the original Koizumi, adjust his personality to fit his female counterpart and you'll have male Tachibana. That's it for now. I'll leave you with two niconico videos. Already the users are cursing Nagato for keeping Kyonko to himself. Who would have thought Nagato's name being cursed in such a way before? http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2416947 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2500030 Edit: Added Kyonko's brother. Hmm, "Melancholy" might not be the best name. Quote:

I also disagree with the Hard Gay thing... the original decided to avoid direct references and we should too. Also, the names! We all need to make a consensus on the names. Personally, I think the names from that one blog are a good idea... although writing the names using a different character set works for a Japanese reader, it doesn't work for an English one. Also, I thought "Kyon-ko" was just our nickname for her to differentiate her from the "real" Kyon. Aren't we still using "Kyon"? Any suggestions on the names? |
