Dio's totally playing Jojo.
That kid is so naive it's ridiculous!
Dio on the other hand is rotten to the core.
I'm glad Jojo's father finally got to see real Dio.
Once again Dio took something precious from Jojo.
Now he's even a vampire... that's beyond bad.
This was an amazing episode!

Jonathan Joestar IS the Lawful Good of the Joestar lineage. As the Joestar lineage goes further in time, the JoJo will be less nice.

But for the most part they are all dorks.

The best kind of dorks, don't get me wrong, but dorks nonetheless.

Nah. They are still very nice. This episode is showing the trait of future battle styles. JoJos is fighting the overwhelming odds. He/she cannot comprehend the situation. It is hard on him/her physically and emotionally. However, he/she tries to overcomes it with analysis. Then, he/she will dare to try out his/her resolution.

That's the one thing about the JoJos. While they got a little less nice as generations goes on, they still have that gentlemanly spirit from Jonathan. To the point that they can get people they previously defeated to join them. (Ok, not all of the baddies, but some of those that have still a sense of human virtue).

I just love how this show has led me to recall my childhood memories through its ED song.

Holy crap that rendering for the Hamon! It puts Twilight to fucking shame!

Otherwise, episode 3 managed to cram the turning of Jack the Ripper, meeting Zeppeli, teaching Hamon and going to Dio's place but getting ambushed by Jack, and killing Jack in one single episode. And yet, it doesn't feel like they have gone TOO FAST. The only downside to me is the censorship that can get really nasty.

Zeppeli's voice is absolutely not what I had in mind. It will take some time to get used to it.

They are breezing through the chapters, but as usual, the stuff they cut out is mostly unimportant so it's not a big problem. Phantom Blood works better with this faster pace anyway. Moreover, that means more episode for the next part, so it's definitely worth it.

Man, that censorship was absolutely BLECH!
Otherwise it was good episode, I got to see my long awaited OBADURAAAIBUUU!
Zeppili's voice was such a shocker though and Erina is absolutely stunning.

"Speedwagon withdraws cooly".

Johnathan reminds me very much of Goku though. Even he turns some former enemies into his allies and friends. It's an interesting similarity between the two.

Really manly and quite over-the-top, but very entertaining. I just hope it gets licensed soon since JoJo has been around a long time like FotNS.

Copyrights will be a pain tho, especially when western music references get thrown in.

Thank you. 87$ each BD. Wow.

Might wait until the anime is finished to buy it. And Jojo is on #3 place on BD pre-orders this season you know, I'm sure if the adaptation keeps up it will sell enough for another season.

rank doesn't matter, in a weak season you can have rank above #10 with sales around 2000

same as now, jojo has better rank compared to LB since 2-3 weeks ago with less sales number and static (around 200) margin

Except this isn't a weak season at all and the pre-orders for all Jojo's BD's so far are great.
