Sucks that Chiyori got another loss thanks to Tama, of all LRIGs!

Seriously, I think Chiyori needs to be aware that losing three times would cause her wish to get corrupted... I'm worried about that girl and her enthusiasm!

Ruu and friends appeared shocked at Fumio's appearance. Fumio didn't look that strange to me, so I'm not sure why Ruu and co would be shocked at Fumio's appearance, unless Fumio is a guy. Now that would understandably be shocking to them given how every Selector thus far has been a girl.

Couple that with "boku" and Fumio seeming flat-chested, and it's enough to be suspicious at least. Not proof though, no.

Unless of course everyone assume Fumio is a cross-dresser or a trans (which makes the boku weird because why would you still use boku then?)...

I think they 'shocked' simple because the episode need another scene before end...

I honestly didn't make the connection. In other words, when I saw Fumio show up at the end of Episode 4, it didn't click that "Oh, that's the unknown person in the OP!"

But I just re-watched the OP, and you're right. I guess Fumio is a girl then.

Words are insufficient to express my joy at resuming WIXOSS after a season hiatus.

The show's back, and they did a pretty decent job at reintroducing Ruko, Yuzuki, and Hitoe while tightening the pacing, as well as going in-depth with some answers revealed and Ruko's still lingering desire to do battle.

It's not like I was missing Akira that much, but I having this feeling she's a temporal comfort for Ulith and nothing more.

Watch only the opening video for this season and freeze frames at second 0:51. The frame shows a shadow looking like Ulith either possessing or devouring Ruko.

I do understand that Ulith's still carrying on helping with Iona's wish, that is sending Selectors to challenge Ruko, so as the latter awakens back her thrill to fight WIXOSS much what Iona has been longing for.
But, what if Ulith holds her own agenda, and she starts to get interested and fancy on Ruko, if she hasn't by now?

It's much more likely that Iona's own agenda is about hating Iona. The important relationship here is the Iona/Ulith one i feel, and Ulith pretty much is in a perfect place to play monkey's paw devil.

Level 5 huh? I almost thought about Espers for a moment but this Selector.

Idk about this Fumio girl tbh. I think her dream is to become a novelist which imo is a good goal but her family problems is not something I'd like to see more of. Honestly, they should do this characterization and focus on Chiyori instead as Fumio's role now is much more significant than she seems to be. Also, glad to see Ruko doing battle again and she seems to be enjoying it.

Iona probably will play a large role later on.

Spoiler: I think that a few of you out there got confirmation from this episode that Iona, indeed, wanted to become a LRIG in response at what went wrong or crazy at the end of the previous season's conclusion. Answering as to why Tama rejected Ruko's wish: - I understand that Tama did not want Ruko to become a Lrig and leaving her alone forever. Iona further answers to herself in this episode that even if a Selector fulfills her condition and wins a certain number of battles, still, her wish may not become true if the Lrig deems said wish as impossible to realize. Perhaps, Tama deemed Ruko's wish as an impossibility not because was unreachable but due not wanting to lose Ruko. Nonetheless, both Tama and Ruko ended up losing each other anyways due to Iona's wish to become Ruko's Lrig right after losing to Ruko.
