I hope there won't be an open-ended ending to this show, leaving all of the important questions unanswered: this is one of the few things I hate in some anime.

Well to be slightly more exact, SEPB (Or maybe only a few) do know that it's the "Original Three" that created, and are still creating, the Mushi...

But yeah, not they haven't revealed the 'why' yet... Though according to raidou, they have a good reason for doing so...

Also according to raidou, one of the reason for Original three to create mushitsuki is for food since they ate dream in the 1st place.And each original three target different people because each prefer certain taste, dont ask me how dreams have different flavour .Oogui is the worst/most gluttonous(just like her name) among the three and most versatile in combat.Reason why sectional pattern mushi are abundant.

There is also something called α which should know the origin of all event.Not explained yet by Raidou though

Hey, any novel reader would be kind enough to spoil bits of info from the novel?Like comparing/giving missing details between the anime and novels.Help to clear up some confusion .Through PM also fine if you are scared breaking the rules

My guess is that because people have different kinds of dreams It's more like what the dreams consist of, that is the 'taste' they're referring to.

Well it was said what the Original Three want by giving Mushi to everyone, but that could just be a stereotypical assumption. I have an idea of why the one does.
This recent episode was sad for me. Kusuriya has his hands full, and he doesn't even know just how full they really are.

Rina's dead. Not just fallen, dead from Nanahoshi maturing too much and eating her. :cries:

Very very VERY nicely done and wraps up all of the character stuff very well. No other deaths (aside from the grunts), though Haji is in intensive care now after having shit dropped on him and then blasted by Nanahoshi and Daisuke leaves Shiika at the hospital with Rina's paintings and basically walks off into the sunset.

After Rina died in his arms, his bug started going a bit berserk and was about to shoot him (yes, literally twisted around and about to fire) until he started wailing on it, slamming it on the ground and punching it until it leaked juices. Then it got back in line to let him kill the fully matured Nanahoshi (as he wished Rina a Merry Christmas no less... :tears

It was a pretty good episode. For some reason, I've been a bit out of it recently so I don't really feel much... But it was still a good end for the first part. I was surprised when Rina shattered and disappeared because I expected her to just die and not completely vanish.

Only complaint- The designs for Oogui and her monsters...

Comments on the ending:

Shiika- No reaction; She hugs her killer bug...

Kako- I guess he'll appear at the planetarium next Christmas

Kasuo and C- I didn't really need to see Kasuo's twisted face...

The irony! Keigo visits Senri, but she was comatose/asleep. Then she wakes up and now he's in comatose/asleep...

Now to wait for the second season. Hm~ Hm~ Hm~

Now with all those other series out there getting so much hype - this series certainly isnt getting its fair share

RINAA!!!!!!...now that is what i call a death...it's really emotional seeing her but still holding onto her dreams to the bitter end - kakkou's tears dripping onto her making her look like she is crying as well though at this stage it was impossible for her is a really nice touch to the overall effect. and kakkou battering his own mushi - YEA! you go show it who's boss!

The ending was drool - a nice sound resolution so that isnt the last you have seen of kakkou! I was expecting shiika to be in a worse state but meh though i wish she did play a bigger part in the mass off killing but overall it wasnt too bad - she did kill mimi ;___;

Haji completely failed - and up until now i still have no idea what he was doing...so was his main objective to catch shiika? for a man like him to end up in that state - he must not be very good at chess then

The slower version of the ED at the end of this episode made everything for me. Together with the scenes they fitted perfectly and i just loved the mood involved ^_^

cant wait to see what season 2 have installed for us

Only one complaint... I was expecting a slightly more impressive fight scene With that out of the way...


- I thought I was strong, I thought I was prepared, but Rina's death still made me choke slightly Sad... Very sad, and this time, I meant it in an emotional way.

- Well obviously the host and the mushi don't have a good partnership Kakkou did good pulling himself together

- I just simply love this line, to me it's just so cool

"Merry Christmas, Nanahoshi... Your mistress was the strongest..."

- Using a girl's touch, Shiika subdued Fuyuhotaru differently from Kakkou

- So what's Daisuke going to do now till next year? He has no need to go back to school... Probably deal with the remaining Mushibane as with as the Original Three...

All in all, I would love to see how this story continues

ROFL told you that it gonna end like that....close to the novel and looks like they gonna start season 02 with novel 02 setting (senri eccentric plots?maybe).

I haven't been able to watch the last 4 episode of the anime(Depending on summary from blogs) so correct me if I made wrong comparison, other novel reader.

Yep the story pretty much close to what happen in the novel, Rina dead. Just a little difference in chronology of the events(might be wrong, am depending on summary from others for the last 4).Her character still has a big part to play in the rest of the cast though, especially for Kakoo and Shiika.Plus some of the conflict later on will be about Rina all over again.

Also regarding Oogui, she did appear though I dont remember about her taking a big part in the last battle as much as the anime.I don't even clearly know what she did in the anime last 4 eps aside from summary/comments.

Haji did fall into coma after the Ladybird battle just like in the novel, Senri woke up and appear mostly in vol 02.

The novel has the same main characters (Main 3 at least).It is just that the focus of the story keep changing.
For example Vol 01 basically is about introduction to the main gang and set up the base of the story(focus on Rina and several basic problem).Vol 02 storyline is still a continuation of 01 but the focus switch to Senri,Vol 03 on Ubuki, Vol04 on Yami's gang and so on.Each accompanied by new problem or events related to this and that person.
But the anime combined/mixed around the novel timeline/storyplots/characters[eg.Asami's case from vol07], so there are some difference.
