i was wondering if anyone knew a japanese blog search engine, you know one where you just enter the name of a series / paring / character and you get a list of blogs (not even sure if they are blogs, i just concluded that after searching for search engines with google *without any luck though* but heck i mean those fanartish sites about certain series where people post up self made comics, diary entries, blog ideas etc. )

I've been looking for this item since my day in physics. I hope someone can tell me what it is. I drew a high quality paint diagram for you.

Here's one concerning the main site.
As we all know there are sometimes, little bold extras next to the name. I know its..umm basic, but what exactly is the difference?
(I'm referring to the purpose)

For example, AVI Vs. Xvid?

Those are "Version" tags, used to help differentiate from otherwise identical releases. Originally it was added because groups release "version 2" of the same episode in order to fix various problems.

The tags are normally taken from the torrent file names. Often we get "DVD", "HQ", "LQ", "MKV", "XviD", "AVI", "h264", etc. tags on files and we'll add them if they help visitors pick between releases. We've had, and still do have, some inconsistencies in how we add them and what we add. Taking your example we've often mixed and matched the use of AVI and XviD, even though they are two completely different things. Normally we go with what was in the file name, but human error can result in "AVI" being added to something with "XviD" (where say, another copy of the same episode might be "h264") because it is an AVI file, or visa-versa.

In 95% of cases, we use XviD, not AVI. The reason you've been seeing AVI on the main page lately is because Nyoro~n Fansubs releases 3 versions of Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. One of those is HQ h264 in an mkv container, one is LQ XviD in an mkv container and the third is LQ XviD in an avi container. We needed three distinct labels for them, so we use the rarely used AVI since that is what makes it different from the other two versions. Seeing two different LQ XviD releases was a bit troublesome.

LQ Xvid in an MKV container when there is also a release using the AVI container? Is there any point to that whatsoever other than an unhealthy dedication towards pushing the MKV format?

Hrmmm, back to get on-topic. Hrmm, silly questions. =p

How much would it cost to have my own typical 26-episode anime-series produced? (This is a ridiculous question of course, but anyone have interesting ballpark figures perhaps?)

Our thread for discussing that and related issues: The Industry - Costs

According to the data in that thread it would probably cost about 290 million yen. That would be 2.4 million USD or 1.8 million Euro. If you have anything else to say on the subject, please relegate it to the proper thread.

It doesn't do anything. Really.

When someone registers on the forum they can list the name of a member that refered them to our forum who might be a friend of theirs. Everytime someone lists you as their referral, your referral counter increments.

It then does nothing. If we implemented features that we are not likely to implement you would get special rewards for having a high referral counter. Like access to super-secret forums, bigger avatars or a new user title. We don't do that so feel free to ignore it.

Recruitment is a very low priority on our agenda since all these new members keep showing up without us having to go on a membership drive. I'm not really sure why they keep appearing, but they do. As long as that happens all on its own, we're definitely not going to reward referrals in any way.

"Bishie" is just the short form of "bishounen", which means "beautiful boy".
The female equivalant would be "bishoujo", or "beautiful girl".
