You think that the urgency of the situation would make this a strong episode, but it doesn't. The pacing and drawn out dialogues really hurts the flow of the show. Everything was just awkward to watch.

Well the Desu has certainly arrived . Always manages to cause destruction whenever she shows up as well.

Certainly the most action we've gotten from the series so that's a good point for it. Some good points like Jun not just wanting to sit around and do nothing, though unfortunately he still got captured rather easily.

Suigintou also throwing down the insults. Putting Kirakishou lower than junk. Certainly she is one heck of a warped character. Doesn't give much of a damn about the main goals of the Rozen Maidens. Rather has her own interpretations and goals. Take all the bodies so she can swap at any time and just use a mass of humans as pure energy.

I agree. But I must say I checked out the manga to see how it was done, and it felt like they actually improved the flow while keeping close to the manga. So the problem is in the source.

At long last, the dolls and their Alice game are back in the spotlight. I actually liked the previous episodes focusing on Jun and his daily life better, but this is still good. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, the doll Jun was making ended up being Kirakisho's body. I didn't expect it to be made from Souseiseki's parts however. Kira's goal was finally revealed, and it's pretty twisted. She wants to claim the bodies of the other dolls as her own. Well, I guess it's not really all that much more twisted than taking their rosa mystica...

The direction of this episode is bad... seriously 9 episodes in and finally something is happening but the direction was just too horrible. All that talking just interrupts the damn flow.

I loved it. A bit low budget, but was very fun to watch.

What I noticed with my ears is that there's this new BGM....that's somewhat a new version of "battle of Rose".

Wow, a lot of dolls on stage. Never watched earlier seasons, so had no idea what powers/element the dolls had.

So the watering can growing a tree surprised me. What does the other twin with the scissors do?

Jun needs to break free of the vines already and slap some sense into this doll.

The most visually stylistic episode so far, in my opinion. I think that the past episodes had set up the stage nicely for this episode, and that's probably one of the reasons why this one was enjoyable. And yay, Suiseiseki's back!

By the way, if the parts were from an existing doll, why was Jun "working" on them that long? His "work" on the parts (the way it looks, polishing with a cloth or whatever) always seemed somewhat ridiculous to me, but apparently this time it was also needless...

I personally found the direction in this episode very excellent. Presuming this is being as faithful to the manga as manga readers suggest, the director can't really help how dialogue-heavy this episode is. Yes, the dialogue is heavy to the point where it actually breaks up the tension and hurts the overall flow of parts of the episode. But that's my only real criticism of this episode. Well that, and I agree with mitsuganae that Desu's entrance would have been more dramatic if we never saw her flying through the air in transit before it. Perhaps this anime is actually too faithful to the manga.

In any event, everything comes together beautifully until the Rozen Maidens decide to talk a lot around the odd attack. But at least the dialogue is informative and in-character. Like Kanon said, the fact that Jun was actually making the body for Kirakisho wasn't a surprise to anybody, but then it wasn't meant to be. What was surprising is that this body is made from the disassembled parts of Souseiseki.

That's a very interesting wrinkle that adds justification to Desu's sudden about-face just when I expected her to join Shinku and Suigintou in opposing Kirakisho. For me, Desu's startling and dramatic defense of Kirakisho made up for her slightly underwhelming entrance. It's a great cliffhanger to end the episode off on, as it leaves anime-only viewers like myself wondering how the heck Shinku and Suigintou are going to work around this problem. Souseiseki is Desu's closest sister, so I have a very hard time imagining Desu sacrificing Souseiseki in order to stop Kirakishio. I'm definitely looking forward to more!

And while I do like the story involving Jun and his daily life, I can also say that unlike some Rozen Maiden fans, I watch Rozen Maiden for the Rozen Maidens. So this episode is quite possibly my favorite yet.

Finally. The real star has arrived:

DESU BITCHES.

Though, that was a shocking revelation about who Kira is REALLY made of.

All this disembodied disassembling, especially of two of them sharing the same parts, is really creeping the shit out of me.
