Gyagu Manga Biyori

I didn't see a post for this anime yet, so...

Gyagu Manga Biyori was originally released in February of 2005. Ayu fansubs just released the first two episodes, hence I've posted this in the "Fansubs" forum.

There's not really a description on the Anidb page, but here it is anyway.

Here's my first impressions on the first two episodes.
Overall, I was kinda dissapointed. A few jokes were funny, but not really enough. I guess I expected this to be another "Sexy Commando." Maybe there's a reason it took a year for it to get subbed... I'm still glad Ayu decided to sub it though; maybe it'll get better!

I liked the firs episode, but the second had me confused most of the time. I mean why where they trying to make Ink and Salt from sweat?

I watched all 12 episodes and found it hilarious. I loved it.I guess it depends on the person watching it.. I myself want to buy the comic book as well

Welll..the director is the same guy who made the 'sexy commando gaiden-sugoiyo!Masaru san' anime. (maybe that's why every episode features Ueda Yuuji, the voice actor for Masaru)

High speed, surreal, base. Take a humor anime. Remove all plot, exposition, and characterization. Condense all remaining gags into four minutes. If you don't get a joke right away, just let it go and wait for the next one. You'll fall behind otherwise.

Actually, I take that back. There's not much in there that you would necessarily call funny in its own right. No one liners, no setups, not even very many punchlines. Lots of outtakes, though. The laughter value comes from the fact that you are continually off balance throughout an episode. It's more like a tilt-a-whirl than a roller coaster. Without the nausea.

Plus, a pretty spiffy OP.

Hmmm, when I was watching it, it just felt like it was trying too hard. If the director of Sexy Commando is behind it, I'd expect a little more...

At least Sexy Commando had a plot though. This one just seems too random and incoherent.

episode 4 was pretty great. im not a big fan of chinese dynasty stories so the previous ones turned me off alittle but they still had their funny parts. but the meteor thing was pretty silly.

This thing is like a five-minute Wario Ware session.

I love Akitaro Daichi's work. He's so versatile.

I enjoyed the first season it was hilarious but logic did have to take the backseat . Do Sexy Commando Masaru and Gyagu Manga Biyori share the same creator / director they seem very similar .

Btw hooray for Season 2 and Ayu Fansubs : D

I really need to watch this, though seeing it too many times before it gets released really put me off, mainly with all the troubles that we've had with it. However it really looks like fun, so I just need to find some spare 5 minutes and bring a tissue with me...
