Well after messing around with my Elite over the weekend I've decided to make some major changes to the set up.

Primarily the LaRue LT-104 mount and Troy Ind. HK Style Buis are getting assholed in favour of a Accuracy International 18MOA mount - same as those used on my dream AWSMs - which will serve to both lower the scope's height over the barrel and give me a greater range of horizontal adjustment.

Secondly I've decided to get a proper bipod for it instead of the integral bipod as cool as it may be, it just isn't stable enough nor is it low enough to be used effectively at prone. So I've just joined the long waiting list for an Atlas BT10.

Another problem that arose there however is the Steyr doesn't have a picatinny rail on the underside of the forestock, it features a European UIT 3/8" accessory rail. I've gotten into contact with a local gunsmith to see if he can make a picatinny rail to the same dimensions as the original UIT rail and I'll replace it.

Also ordered a Harris BMR-S 6-9 bipod with podlok for the T-Bolt.

Things are getting tacticooooooooooool.

and post some pics so some of us will have EYEgasms....

btw gaiz... what mount is great for a magnifier? for some strange reason, my uncle shipped a holographic sight with a magnifier back home. the holo sight is simple to attach (weapon in question is an AR15 that looks like an M4) but what am I supposed to do with the magnifier?

Don't worry Zeker, I will. Just got to play the waiting game now. The Atlas BT10-LW17 should land in Australia mid-next week for the supplier and I should have it at the end of the week or early the following week.

I sent the UIT rail to the gunsmith today so hopefully he'll do that next week and I'll have it back the week after.

As for mounts, look at the LaRue version for the Aimpoint 3X Magnifier here.

Planning on getting the T-Bolt out tomorrow and testing out my self resetting targets. A bloke from work also wants to come out for a shot and'll bring his 22WMR and .243W

EDIT: Just shot another fox with the T-Bolt.

Mission Accomplished.

The car and the AK were probably made in the same blacksmith shop anyway...

I rather doubt it, jorunalists are only out for the story, that's why they have the guy/gal with the gun do the shooting for them.

We~ell, what do you know. There is a certain South Korean brand called Daewoo that manufactures both cars and rifles (K1, K2, K3, K11).

Granted, they are subsidiaries of the original Daewoo conglomeration (broken up in 1999), but S&T Daewoo (formerly Daewoo Precision Industries) produces both firearms AND car parts. Daewoo Motor actually became GM Korea after it was acquired by General Motors.

DAMN. also, I need to ask... can a K2 upper be put in an M16 lower?

also, note to self: never EVER mistreat an M1903. EVER. (involved a friend, gramp's M1903 and the old bolt in the army firing range this afternoon)

Very true! My husband refers to the reporters over there as "roving bullet magnets".

Installed my AI mount to the Steyr last night but sadly the weather was blowing a howling gale all day with showers. Not the best to be trying to sight a rifle in again... God, this'll be the forth time I've had to do it with this rifle!

The rail for should turn up early next week and I'm still awaiting the arrival of the Atlas bipod. Expect a photo shoot when I get her all together again. The AI mount looks heaps better than the LaRue mount, whereas the LaRue looked tactical, the AI mount just screams "business".

It's just a solid, dependable mount that matches the quality of the Schmidt & Bender PMII. I wish I had just gotten one of these from the get go.

A few updates from me!

Got the Harris SBRM bipod with Pod Lock all set up and installed on my T-Bolt; pretty swish, just waiting for the chance to get it out and test it out.

The Atlas Bipod I ordered is in the mail and so is the custom picatinny rail for my Steyr and I am told to expect both before the weekend. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend! XD

And finally, I managed to track down the elusive Browning T-Bolt Varmint 22WMR! I didn't think I'd have so much trouble trying to find one but a tip from a bloke on the shooting.com.au forums really helped me out.

Just need to call them and organize payment and transfer to my local gunshop.
