Romance crowning moments

If you've been to tvtropes.com, you've probably seen their vast collections of crowning moments of awesome, heartwarming, funny, etc. Here I'm looking for what would probably be called crowning moments of romance. It may fit as awesome, heartwarming, even funny, but it's those moments that just hit you hard. Some may make you cry, some may make you cheer and scream "At last!", some just make you sigh and say that whatever came before, whatever hell the two had to go through, it was all worth it, and, as Charles Dickens once said, you can see no shadow of their parting.

Most of the romance series I like, the couple gets together in the beginning of the series or the middle or early on, so they are already dating and in a relationship during the series, so the moments I like involve the couple already in a relationship, kissing, having sex, dating, getting married, having happy moments as a couple after they are dating, not the actual confession, but the loving moments they have during the relationship as boyfriend/girlfriend and husband/wife and lovers.

CLANNAD and CLANNAD After Story have many of these moments between its central couple. My two favorite examples are:

Nagisa's accidental confession at the baseball game; it's both hilarious and adorable

Spoiler for CLANNAD After Story 12:

Tomoya's wedding proposal to Nagisa. A more serious moment in contrast to the above one; it happens right after an emotionally intense sequence where Tomoya has a breakdown in front of Nagisa after his estranged father's latest actions, but Nagisa manages to calm him down. After a pause, Tomoya proposes to Nagisa who accepts without hesitation. I like how it's a role reversal of the first season, throughout the first season Tomoya has acted as a pillar of support for Nagisa who suffers from shyness and low self esteem, now Nagisa who has matured greatly since then is returning the favor for Tomoya who's struggling to cope with his transition to adulthood as well as his issues with his father.

Full Metal Panic The 2nd Raid has a nice subdued romantic moment:

the haircut scene, which illustrates how much the normally paranoid Sousuke trusts Chidori. He even falls asleep while she's cutting his hair, a very potent moment since previously he freaked out at the barbershop.

ef a tale of memories has a great moment at the end of the series

Renji manages to collect the remains of Chihiro's diary and shows them to Chihiro. After all the drama caused by Chihiro's amnesia, this was a beautiful moment that showed Renji's devotion to Chihiro despite her condition causing him a lot of suffering. As a result the two of them get together and earn their much deserved happiness.

It's funny, these sorts of moments can happen in any kind of anime. I recently found an anime a few years old, Guyver: Bioboosted Armor. This also fits almost perfectly with another of my suggestions, crush v. love.

Spoiler:

Sho has known Mizuki, his best friend's little sister, since they were both just small children, and is in love with her, though she only cares about her crush Agito. All sorts of stuff happens, and Sho becomes a superhero with enemies who will do anything to destroy him. He loses his power through trauma, but when Mizuki's threatened, in desperation to protect her he breaks through. We see Mizuki sitting hidden in a cave, with a look on her face that says more than anything that she's finally come to realize how precious he is to her. Sho had risked, and even given, his life to protect her and fight for her while fully aware that her heart belonged to another, and in a single moment, without so much as a kiss, you know that his love is finally returned.

I don't know how well this fits with the manga, but it goes to show that you don't necessarily have to have a romance series, or even a kiss or embrace. A single look can mean more than any of this.

BTW, are there any points anyone would consider a great, even crowning moment in B Gata H Kei? I mean, for all the fanservice, I found myself watching for the love. And again, more than the kisses or touches, the moments when the girl finds herself so confused and lost in this new emotion that she can't even think are really priceless imho.

After some thought, I'm going to add two more that aren't exactly suspenseful or "at last" moments, but really touching nonetheless (the background music may have been part of it, since both were backed by My Most Precious Treasure).

Spoiler for Angel Beats:

The farewell scene for Yui, and then the one for Kanade (along with the apparent reunion scene after the credits). This is a very unique sort of scene, since at one time two people are comitting to one another and saying good bye, and the guy is declaring his true, sincere desire to be with the girl forever with the full knowledge that he's freeing her from the things that are keeping her from passing on. There's a certain bittersweet feel to this, but at the same time there's a sense of real love, love that will give so much for the sake of the other's happiness, but still will never give up in finding a way back together. The one downside in this series was that it was too short and didn't give enough background on these characters and their relationships.
