Girls & Tanks 07 - The Smash Cut of Victory
So that's what all the Gordian Guderian stuff was about. Yukari's taken on the name. For the most part, this was more my kind of episode. One where the characters were (mostly) in the spotlight, and thus can be discussed. Plus, another (rather crowded) bath scene, I'm not going to contest that. So Mako's grandma didn't provide much drama, but it was still good for fleshing out Mako herself. Even if her family conditions aren't perfect, both of them have this silver tongue that makes their interactions fun to watch. And the distinctions between Miho and Saki continue to bubble to the surface here. While Saki went down her path because she didn't want to stand out, Miho went down hers because she did - that Yoshika-like kindness towards saving absoloutely everybody. Nobody should die in sports, so I agree with her decision, especially as it was made in the heat of the moment. Some world-building stuff too, namely how schools came to be on ships in the first place. I suppose it's not too dissimilar from the great amount of fiction that places schools on islands. Great minds are apparently made by trapping people with several miles of ocean. ...which may explain Japan itself, but that's getting off topic. And if the first year girls (who still function more as a hive mind than any sort of defined character) are having love problems, high-quality yuri goggles are a perfectly acceptable solution... if I knew anything about them as people, I'd be right on it. This episode was a little more in my comfort zone, and helped to give the non-main characters some dimension. I'm okay with the DVDs being delayed if it means the OVAs can be polished. Those OVAs may also be in my comfort zone, so make every minute the best it can be. I know the coming weeks will probably not all be like this, but if they're, like, half like this, I'll be okay. |

They're two completely different characters. The long haired Pravda girl at the end of episode 7 is called Nonna, while Miho's mother in episode 7 is Nishizumi Shiho.

Yes, Miho's mother is that long hair woman. She is on the same side as Blackforest (Miho's sisiter team). Pravda girl at the end of ep.6 is a different person.

It's the thought behind the action. The attempt to save lives, not whether she could actually have done so, that is important

I wonder how Nishizumi Miho would fare in the latest match in International Saimoe League : http://internationalsaimoe.com/voting/
