So Shinsengumi are bad guys?

Something interesting. I believe it occurs before the storyline for Peacemaker Kurogane, but there was another branch? or something of Shinsengumi under another leader that was more bloody thirsty at killing people in the streets with not too much provocation. If I am not mistaken, the order was given by the emperor or some other lord for him to be "removed" from power.

Something to that effect. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

i think that the previous 1 was quite corrupted and don follow the way of the samurai, thats why kondo and hijikata got them removed and became the heads... correct me if i'm mistaken

I also heard something to that effect except some Lord issued the order to them.

The other branch and their leaders were supposedly so bad that they'd kill you if you didn't have proper identification with you if they stopped you in the streets.

episode 10 really moves faster than usual, we get to see the reason why yamanami san quits shinsengumi, we also see how they kill kamo who i think is the leader of shinsengumi, also saitou hajime in action ! sweet

Yeah. Saitou was pretty cool in 10.

And we got to see Hijikata's kinder, gentler side with the cough medicine he makes. However, he still seems like he acts like a jerk to a lot of people. I understand why Yamanami would quit. I don't know how Okita gets along with him so well. It's a little strange. Though Okita seems to have a harsher, darker side he hides behind his friendlier face. Maybe that's why the two get along so well. Yeah, good episode though what the villains were in fact talking about made absolutely no sense to me half the time.

I just need to make a complaint since I'm a hopeless fan of Okita Souji and the fact that he was a young prodigy... I do hope this spoiler comes out ok cause I'm trying it out

Since Hijikata is making some medication for his 'coughing' illness, Okita is going to die from the turburculosis he's having isn't he? NO!!!!!!!!!! Sigh.... why is it that his life is so tragic?

Actually hijikata doesnt know he had that illness, so does okita, when okita found out he got that illness, he kept it from the shinsengumi, thus no 1 really know till the end, i'm not sure how the story will go, but thats what history says.. the medicine hijikata came up with was his family's trade, mainly to treat injured shinsengumi members.

Oh you mean at this point in time not even Okita knows that its turberculosis..... icic..... but it still doesn't avoid the fact that this anime is going to follow on the path of real history that in the end he does die of that....... I was just hoping that Okita could've died in a courageous battle rather than some disease... maybe I'm having these feelings because kenshin died in the same way too!!!!

What I really wish is that we could go back in time (I know it is not possible because it would somehow get abused) and do things like talk to Okita near to his death, and ask him for permission of course, but after his historically significant actions are done, if he lets us, we kidnap him into the future (in a simulated/controlled environment sort of so not to shock him) and replace him with a dummy instead. And then we cure him (I'm assuming we are able to treat TB in this generation?) and he could teach us so much...I know, totally fantastical, unrealistic, and maybe even cruel...just my fantasy. That and 1. going to the great library at, I think it was Alexandria? before it burnt down and replacing as much as we can with duds and 2. going back to Jesus' time and actually seeing the miracles that the bible talks about. I really want to see so many people fed with so little food. But maybe I'd get reprimanded for wanting to see such a thing?

Okay, now you guys have seen what a silly person I am with such silly concepts and fantasies. And convoluted run on sentences maybe. Please try not to judge me too harshly....

I'll join the club. I like the series so far, but they could use more action and get the story going a bit. How many episodes is it? Uh anyway, I like all the characters so far. Tetsu is such a brat, that's what I love about him, and he's growing. He's interesting to watch.

I was looking around and there is a rumor floating that Saya and that other girl were being trained as Geishas. (As well as some less savory comments about this)
Does anyone know exactly what Geisha's do?
All I know is that they *entertain* men, but how far persay?

yeah, despite all the funny moments in PMK, it's actually the most dreadful/depressing manga i've ever read, since they're twisting the plot a lot in the anime, i'm hoping that no one dies in the near future.... or at least not in such a traumatic setting.

in btw the lady yamanami is seeing is a Geisha...which are prostitutes, except they can also dance and sing and all that. since SAYA is her maid, she's trained to be a prostitute when she grows up, also, i think yamanami quit b/c he was deceived just so he believed hijikata was planning on getting rid of him. and if all sticks to the manga, yamanmi is killed by souji...i was sulking the whole day after i read that part. hope things are different with the anime...!!!

So....are there no more geishas in Japan today, I'm guessing?
