At least it's "convenient censorship" and not a magical beam of light (or impenetrable shadow) that can appear, even if there's absolutely no way for there to be such a light/shadow in the first place that can just utterly ruin an image/scene.

Well, this is an illustration after all. Laser BETAs working in anime are one thing, but you just have to facepalm if they decide to work in real life too.
Not that I recall the last time I saw them working on magazine illustrations.

Episode 5 was quite action-packed. Seeing all these shinobi transformations made me wonder if Kariya has one to, and if his mortal combat form is him wearing a speedo...

Senran Kagura 05 - I Was Such an Idiot

That was a pretty exciting episode. I've been calling it a "ninja magical girl" series since day one, but this was the most magical girl-y. So many transformations. The continued look into the Snakes is interesting. Despite calling themselves "evil" and having a bit of a topsy-turvy education system, they're still treating it like an obligation as much as the Hanzo girls. That scene in the bath was perfectly mundane and thus, made them a little sympathetic. I think Funi's leaving some things untranslated that really should be changed (Why kekkai? Call it a barrier. That's what it is.)

After so many episodes, the reunion of Asuka and Homura was exactly as exciting as I thought it would be. Though at times, Homura seems like more of a Sayaka. What with her single mindedness and lots of swords. Mirai's turning into a good example of a lovable loser, and I'm kind of worried for Hibari. She's going to need to turn into a real Bugs Bunny if she wants to get out of this.

It's a pretty typical development, so it is pretty suspicious and guessable.

kinda predictable outcome. Truly if I rank the girls it's Yaggyu that seems to have the edge over the other girls.
Good fanservice though.
